The mission of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is to eradicate employment discrimination at the workplace. However, it has been reported that the EEOC fails to investigate the complaints of Black people who file race discriminaton complaints.

Comment by Ricardo Jones on December 8, 2011 at 1:47pm The EEOC's excuse for all their corruption and fraud accepted by the public and media from the adminstration (Obama) is backlog of Black complaints. The EEOC was budgeted for overtime. Please read the following:
This is the agency's submission to the arbitrator. Go to page 73 for some interesting reading. The document is about 200 pages so don't copy unless you have a ream of paper:

Comment by Mary Etta Felton, EdS on December 10, 2011 at 2:55pm Come on people, this is a serious issue. Support the exposure of this corruption in EEOC. Why do we continue to tell our children " Education is the Key" knowing that the doors of opportunities are blocked by racial discrimination? If we know this, why not hold the EEOC accountable when the agency's investigators do not go forth aggressively to ensure black people have equal employment opportunities? We must think about the future of our children and grandchildren!

Comment by Penguin Board of Directors on December 10, 2011 at 3:31pm Kimberly, Umoja, & Richardo,
Soyinka, Africa's Nobel laureate in Literature, says "the man dies in everyone that keeps silent in the face of tyranny." Sorry to hear about your experiences because I am intricately joined with you as part of the larger humanity so cheated. I do not know how much you have done spreading the word about your cases. However, if you have not tried this, you may wish to contact CBS News Investigates at

The Station is noted for investigating high-profile cases of government and corporate corruption often with restitution for the victims. I have no idea of how the broadcasting organ selects cases to pursue, but I would imagine that case authenticity, public interest, and news-worthiness would factor into the equation.
Secondly, what are the self-styled Black leaders and African American elites with the bully pulpits doing with their bulls and their pulpits?! Have you challenged them directly with the cases that you have? If yes, it would be good to let us know what results you obtained from their intervention, if any? After all, I hear it thrown around so often how much of our brothers' keeper we are!
Comment by Ricardo Jones on December 10, 2011 at 3:43pm Thank you Penguin Board of Dirctors for your support and concerns. CBS let down the whistleblower of the Big tabacco corruption story with Dan Rather. The Black leadership and Black elite are on the Take also. The shinney objects of the master are more important than Moral Courage. Some of US have become little bad white people. We will fight on for the futures of our Grand Children.
POWER OF THE PEOPLE. THERE ARE GOOD WHITE ALSO.
Comment by Mary Etta Felton, EdS on December 10, 2011 at 3:46pm Pretending this issue does NOT exist does NOT make the issue disappear. We must face this issue head on and demand enforcement of the laws that protect employment opportunities of black people. Refuse to be the token black hired. That's so unfair. There are many qualified blacks who meet the job requirements but never receive an interview. There are many qualified black who are repeatedly passed over when it's promotion time. We must demand accountability of this disaster as a result of EEOC failing to enforce discrimination laws. It is enough of us to draw attention to this problem. As Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, once said, " There comes a time when silence is betrayal" I think not supporting exposing the corruption in EEOC is a betrayal to our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Comment by Mary Etta Felton, EdS on December 10, 2011 at 4:42pm Lying about investigating complaints should be addressed immediately. Complainants need to speak out if they have documentary evidence and willing to serve as a witness. Documentary evidence is needed to expose the investigators one by one. For example, Notice of Dismissal and Right to Sue letters without a predetermination interview. The predetermination interview provides the complainant an opportunity to ensure all evidence has been submitted and all witnesses have been contacted to support the compliant. Complainants must ensure they know the investigation procedures. It is my belief, many of the investigators are professional liars and experts at what they do; cover up employers' wrongdoings. Documentation is the key to uncovering this corruption. WARNING: Don't wait until it happens to you or someone you love.
