Just another day
What has happened to me?
I am facing a short sale on the "investment", 2nd property my darling wife & I own.
The short sale is also impending on our primary, forcing us to seek a loan modification there too.
I have yet to find a job and am afraid I may have missed the boat. Technology moves so fast and with all the fresh talent, a company wouldn't want to deal with an older worker to have him get up to speed.
The video work is truly calling me. I have…

Somebody’s been making money
Off of you and me
Like all the insurance companies
And the entire medical bureaucracy
Hospitalization and medication
Is not always an option for the working poor population
Listen up America!
The right to medical coverage should certainly be
A basic right that is guaranteed
The cost of medicine is sky high
It’s no wonder many of the working poor give up and die
Can’t afford a…

Ignorance,Apathy and Greed are Deadly Combinations
The causes of social problems exist on many levels. When we ask why social problems such as poverty, unemployment, crime, and war exist, each time we determine a cause, we can ask "why" again, as children often do until they are…

WAKE UP!
WAKE UP! AFRICAN Americans must view the revolutionary changes in Libya not only as a stunning diplomatic victory for our President Barack Obama (which it was) it is and can be a major long term economic stimulus for business and jobs opportunities for African Americans. Libya is a north African nation and has more oil reserves than Saudi Arabia the nation is loaded with 46 billion barrels of oil, vast reserves of natural gas (clean energy). Its reserves of light crude oil are…

A View From Washington: A Time Before the Barricades
You don’t have to be an expert in economics, mathematics, sociology or politics to know that what is happening right now in our country cannot continue. It is unsustainable in a way that preys on the present, transmutes the future into despair and ignores the past in a way that puts in grave peril. Either we will wake up and start doing the hard work it will take to save our little country and slip further into a nightmare that has made us a torture state that is trying to decide when it…

Reflections from a Woodlawn Community Forum
Revolutions come in waves. Cries of unrest mushroom into concrete demonstrations and actions. Concessions are made, tacit agreements reached and things calm down - for a season. Until promises made are broken at which point those who slumber are awakened and the process begins all over again.
The…

It's been known for hundreds of years the cause of poverty private property. Until we do away with the personal ownership of the land those who struggle against poverty are tilting at windmills.

Hold Public Officials Who Discriminate Accountable --Sign Petition Due by Nov 9th
This is to invite you to sign a petition to hold the Federal Government, our
Nations' largest employer, accountable. Presently when public officials
discriminate against employees, applicants, or citizens in need of government
program services --no mandatory is imposed. In fact, too often managers receive
bonuses, awards or promotions after discriminating / retaliating against U.S. citizens,
most often Black individuals.
Despite the passage of the…

Dennis Kucinich for President 2012
October 8, 2011
Dear Dr. West,
In light of the recent plan to “run a slate of six primary ‘challengers’ to the president” I, along with many Kucinich supporters would like to propose Dennis Kucinich as a strong contender to President Barack Obama. I am positive you are aware the Democratic foundation is less than excited about the upcoming 2012 elections, hence the slate of six primary…

Take 'em to task: Smiley & West, why do you promote racism?
I've listened to a few of your programs and have read more than a few blog topics. I note the common theme among too many wrestling with psychological wounds within the black community. I do not deny it's existence, it's origin, the guilt of civilization blind to the evil of slavery, but I do vehemently object to the remedy for illness. When falling back on the same old arguments, rounding up the usual suspects perpetually angry at whites as your savior/ devil, it becomes a philosophical…

"selling" your point
I've been listening to lots of talk for years in another blog site on the subject of race relations, economic policy, and politics in general. It never ceases to amaze me how intelligent discussion gets derailed the moment racists start accusing everyone of being racist to pre-prime the landscape justifying retaliation for a crime they themselves committed. The despicable Susan Smith/ Tawana Brawley scam, and most of the scammers are male. Racist tactics, and an even number of those…
