Walter Simtec Simmons said… The bible said that God created a man and a woman and told them to multiply. It didn’t say he created different kinds of humans. This human that God created would have to have a dominant gene that would be strong enough to produce all the colors in the human linage that exist on earth today. Those colors included Black, Brown, Red, Yellow, and white. It is likely that one would prefer one shade of color over another but not mistreat his brother or sister because his or her skin came from mom with a lighter shade. Frances Cress Welsing is an African American psychiatrist that is noted for her "Cress Theory of Color Confrontation", her findings were that the dominant gene can produce the recessive but the recessive could not produce the dominant. It is also noted that the presence of melanin is responsible for the color that we witness in human beings. Melanin does not make the darker man superior to the lighter man and it does not make the lighter man inferior to the darker man. If I left and went to Europe and became acclimated to the environmental conditions of the climate, I would still be your brother even though I have a lighter skin shade. I could classify my offspring’s as Europeans and you can classify yourself as an African if you choose. In reality sister, we are all one people. People in Egypt classify themselves as Egyptians, People in Arabia as Arabs, and people in America as Americans.
I don’t want you and I to get bent out of shape because of something as trivial as color because color is not the issue. These dialogs are to bring us together so that we can raise the conscious of our communities and bring it one step closer the realization of living together in peace.
