What lessons of love (agape, eros, and/or philia) have you learned this year that you can institute as a tool of success in 2011?
What an interesting concept. I myself had to study these words and their origins. And damn if it did not enlighten me further in my determined quest to convince my people that we are not a wandering tribe.
Eros (from the Greek work word erotikos), is often thought of in a sexual sense, yet is also defined as having an intense and passionate desire for something.
Agape is irrevocably love for TGIA and for my people. When it is not returned, It is still there and Eros kicks in (again)
Philla represents my fondness for my people and the deep affection I have for my brothers and sisters. Some say it is in contrast to the sexual Eros.
This year as in the previous years of my existence, I have learned that should we combine the three (regardless of gender) we will not only be successful in our relationships with one another, we advance individual selves in God’s eyes and please him immensely.
In Numbers 2 we received our marching orders and knew our position in relation to our tribal members. This year I understand even more my place and my overwhelming feeling for my people continues to grow.
Yes it is an extremely sexual desire to be imbedded in my tribe (Eros) because of my deep affection for “WE” (Philla), and it will always remain so (Agape) regardless of those who do not adhere to the marching orders given us.
