Why has black america as a whole gotten- the crab in the bucket mentality

I remember the old timers use to say how black people stuck together and it took a village to raise a child. The main thing wrong w/Black america as I see:

1.Crab mentality

Is it crab in the bucket syndrome or is it a person expressing their opinion? For instance, when a black person speaks against what Obama has and is doing they're scolded for not supporting Obama because he's black. The problem I felt during his campaign was that his policies were no different than Bush's or his opponents. They just came in a different package. We can see that now by the things he hasn't done. So why did so many blacks support his presidency if they knew beforehand that his policies were the same if not worse than his predecessors?

If you're going to support anything let it be in truth and righteousness not in skin color. And that's the problem, you're either counted black because you support black or counted a crab because you go against black.

I feel you Carlos but they should had known that before they voted for him you are not going to change the white house black. I'm reading this book now about race and slavery and I read that back in Lincoln days they said the constitution was written by white people for white people and..something like that. I think the only way to change this is to make up citizenship for ourselves like the Moorish did. We need laws for free slaves not slaves where is it that we fit into the constitution.

By design....This mentality is a result of our history here.....

i don't know... i think if blacks want to disassociate themselves from black communities they can. i don't really see any black person being held back by other blacks. it's hard for me to imagine black america as a whole anyways. there so many different types of black americans.
It's time to put an end to this categorizing and classifying. It's long overdo in my opinion. It divides us. It's time for people to acknowledge and embrace HUMANITY in general.

Why does skin color have to be a defining factor all the time?

I'm HUMAN first and foremost. I'm just HUMAN!
