I caught the story on t.v. and they mentioned everything from flickering lights she was experiencing in her apartment to domestic abuse. What ever it was, God Bless the survivor and condolences to the family. This is rare.
As far as societal ill's and woman as opposed to men, we need to communicate with each other more. Do like the O'Jays say and cry together. If we actually listen to each other we can and will work it out. People have to want to communicate though.

In other words, she did not intend to do this. How many more in this forum are making similarly poor choices by the types of jaundice they allow into their systems and spread around like flu virus? We may never know. Our supplication is that they gain the cosmic consciousness they need to bail them out of their mental prisons before they harm themselves and/or others.
I doubt that the problem is gender-specific. There are young and not-so-young Black, White and Green folks taking their own lives or doing other atrocious things.
Recommendation:
We need to return to valuing the essence. Our essence is spiritual. Without that, human beings are just simple clay. We need to return to God before we are forced to return ahead of our time.
We need effective and efficient support system, beginning with the family system. We need to shake off this false sense of individualism which is as debilitating as it gets. Everybody needs everybody else, some more than others. A chain is as strong as its weakest link.
First of all woman of God this is a very sensitive topic for me being that I am a single mother who has raised 3 children and understands the struggle that is faced on a daily basic raising children and trying to maintain my composure all at the same time is like learning how to juggle in these times of famine. My heart and my prayer goes out to the family of this young lady and her children who never got a chance to be....we as womwn especially black women have such a heavy responsibility with playing the role of the mother and the father, sometimes can be overwhelming, stressful and cumbersome and when you dont have the moral support that you need this is the kind of thing that will happen due to the fact that you dont feel there is no where else to turn then depression and loneliness sets in. I cant say what was the deciding factor that cause this young lady to take her and her childrens live but I can be willing to guess she felt she had nowhere else to turn and she did'nt want to leave her children in this world that she herself found to be to much to handle.
PeaceIn,
Cerrita

I listen to some of my friends discuss 'Big Bang' theory; others, the Darwinian theory of Evolution; and yet others more scientifically impressive suppositions. When they are done, I ask them simple questions about ultimate cause and ultimate source. They either try to duck or divert attention, but they hardly find a hiding place. Please read literature on the Big Bang theory, Evolution and other attempts at explaining creation or the universe; then make your judgments. For example, on Big Bang Theory and the classical works of notable scientists and physicists, including Einstein's on relativity, go to the link http://www.leaderu.com/real/ri9404/bigbang.html
There is no Small or Big Bang escape from God (the Ultimate Cause and Ultimate Source). There is no running away from God. Jonah knew that. God is able all the time. Daniel very well knew that. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were smart enough to know that. Read how God manifested Himself in the lives of these exemplary characters in the Bible. Jonah's story is in Jonah 1: 1-17; that of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel 3: 1-30, and Daniel's in Daniel 6: 4-27. I have personal and first-hand experience to attest to the awesomeness of God. Yet, I am still pretty much a work-in-progress. All those interested, please read the passages and ask for personal revelation.

Permalink Reply by Tony A. Bowdry on April 18, 2011 at 5:38pm my heart goes out to the surviving child who lost his mother and siblings. but to some degree this woman must have beem reaching out for help to no avail. yes we all have our issues but it still doesn't mean that any parent should take their lif or the lif of there children born or unborn. the issue goes on across the country where we hear someone killing themselves and children. what is it going to accomplish? just another lost family to death which should not happen. our family values have been thrown out the window because we don't take the time any more to be a family. we'er to busy with our carreers, personel space, friends, other activities, untill we have no time for the home front. we don't even parent as we should some of us. life is not ment to be a flowery bed of ease. life is hard ,tuff, dificult, troublesome at times. but the only way to whether the storm is we have to ride it out. when we learn to put GOD first all the other things will fall in place. yes maybe easier said than done, but it works. where are the men of these children. no where to be found probably. men we got to do better ourselves too. stop making babies if you not going to take care and be resposible for their well being. check on those children and their mothers and see how they are doing. and relieve them of their mothers who catch enough hell raising them by themselves. but mothers be responsible to if you need help seek it don't wait untill you at ropes end then go to drastic measures. get some help. for you and your children.
