Dr. Cornel West in calling the President a disaster is no surprise. Afterall, when one considers that he was the preeminent intellectual who everyone admired and talked about, next to his sidekick Tavis Smiley. Now here comes that darn Senator from Illinois who had the audacity to become the President! Now they are not getting as much attention as they used to receive. So what do you do to counter that reality? You attack the perceived opponent with old issues that should have been addressed years ago but were never discussed. Issues like poverty-been around for over 50 years but under the Obama presidency, you have a poverty tour! Interestingly enough, there was the State of Black America where the issues that plagued black america was discussed, a book was published by Tavis smiley but no solutions have been proposed to the Obama administration, only complaints from jealous schoolboys who cannot handle their emotions. Where were this dynamic tag team during the Bush administration? Where were they during the torture of prisoners of america? where were they when Troy Davis was murdered? Where were they when the hate language and subtle calls for the assassination of our President over the past 3.5 years took place? Where were they when Newt called the President a food stamp president? Maybe they can weigh in on these questions or admit that they are jealous of the success of another intellectually astute black man who transcends race and is trying to help others and is not sitting in his ivory tower and condescending to the less fortunate. Jealousy is an ugly thing and America will always remember their labor of hate.

Many also supported Hitler in Nazi Germany before and during WWII. Some of our people haven't studied history well. Your president has no plan for the poor or working classes. What do you think will happen to Poor and Working Class Black People? Your president never had a real job in his life. Please do some research on who and what your president is and comes from.

The issues are: JOBS, JOBS, and MORE JOBS!!!

Highest levels of unemployment for Black people and obama adminstration supports discrimination against Black people at the EEOC. Obama appoints Michelle Obama's Harvard Law School friend to the Rogue EEOC Jacqueline Berrien (Opportunist) of the NAACP legal defense fund.

The mission of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is to eradicate employment discrimination at the workplace. However, it has been reported that the EEOC fails to investigate the complaints of Black people who file race discriminaton complaints. According to former EEOC investigator (Mr. Ricardo Jones, Sr.) and the EEOC stats, the EEOC dismisses the majority of its race complaint workload. EEOC found reasonable cause that discrimination occurred only 3.5% of the time in FY 2010 and 3.1% for FY 2011. Great job obama. See link/stat's at EEOC Dismisses The Majority of Race Based Complaints.

This is the get out of jail free card which allows the EEOC to commit crimes, frauds and take bribes. The president can correct this with an executive order if he's honest.

When individuals file lawsuits against the EEOC for alleged fraud, neglience, and other impropriety in processing their respective discrimination charges, the court has ruled against the plaintiff asserting the following: Congress has not authorized, either expressly or impliedly, a cause of action against the EEOC for the EEOC's alleged negligence or other malfeasance in processing an employment discrimination. See Smith v. Casella, 119 F. 3d.

Ms. Rickett,

Calm down. I'm surprised by your statements. "Haters," that's sagging pants terminology.

I did not interject in the discourse between Ricardo Jones and the "professor" because I am studying zealotry delirium, and wanted to see where the exchanges would end up. It went just where I'd predicted it would. The professor accusing others of not presenting "facts," while never presenting any of his own. He considers campaign rhetoric from a reelection website to be "facts." It's so sad.

What I've learned about people who are caught up in zealotry delirium is a tendency to avoid reality when it comes to "sore spot" issues by obfuscating.  Examples: (1) Calling people "stupid haters," -- there is a real world definition of stupid, you know -- for disagreeing with the president's policies (in your case) and "Uncle Toms," "slaves," "kneegrows," in Sanders's case, because such people refuse to support the destruction of Black America which is now being done on the policy level. (2) Such obfuscating folks never discuss policy matters because they know nothing about policy (except for a campaign spin--which originated from some one's else's mind, not their own). They are not interested in left-brain activities such as details and analytical matters, they just engage in right-brain emotionalism. Example: "The president is not a Black leader." Who has said that he was, other than zealots who have placed his picture on placards and tee shirts next to that of Dr. King? And these "problems have been around for a long time," etc. That's a cop-out, and a lie. There are millions of Black people who were middle class 4 years ago, who now live below poverty. Why? Because no one has cared about them at the policy level. Why? Because millions of Blacks are worshipping people they elect rather than holding them accountable.

Also, where did you get the idea from that some Blacks expect the president to "turn against White people"? I have never heard any such foolishness said by any one. Have you been listening to the nut cases like Glen Beck and Rush Limbaugh? Where did that delusional statement come from on your part?

Nor are most people interested in the president's upbringing (as far as I've read, he had an upper middleclass upbringing and never saw a hungry day, or wanted for anything that money could buy). But what does that have to do with his policies? All the complaints I've heard from Blacks pertain to their analysis that he has not been fair to Blacks: treating some groups preferentially. They just want him to be fair and treat them like Americans.

In regards to worshipping, you denied that you and others have a "Messianic" complex when it comes to the president. But here's the discrepancy regarding your claim: Right after stating that denial, you used Jesus as an example of what you perceive is happening to the president. That is all the evidence needed to substantiate  your "messianic" relationship with the president.

I am not saying you are aware of it, I believe it is unconscious on your part.  All I'm saying is you said it. Now you'll probably try to rationalize it away with "I meant this, or that." I'm not talking about what you meant, I'm talking about what you did.

Some people are so uninformed (not you) that they are still making statements about "he is not the president of just Black people, he is the president of every body"... "he can't give Black people no jobs," etc. Frankly, at this late stage in the game, such individuals are so ignorant that it is useless to try and explain anything to them. If one doesn't know the relationship between public policy and jobs, then how can anyone explain anything to such a fool? In fact, why would such a fool jump into a conversation such as this anyway? We ain't discussing no damn ball game, or some celebrity's shoes!

Still others (including you this time) want to approach the social / economic problems besetting Black America without an understanding of public policy. There is hope for some of those who think that way,  if it's  simply a matter of zealotry delirium. With the appropriate reeducation therapy, such persons can be restored to rational thinking and away from their maladaptive sociopolitical behavior. Indeed, facts can matter to them again.

But for the ignorant, there is no hope.

My mission is to fight zealotry delirium. The only way to do that is to dissect and explain policies that contradict what the zealots falsely believe the policies mean (if they've taken the time to even examine policies). In so doing, I do not "hate" anyone. In fact, I take offense to that charge. (Not only because it is 'sagging pants' terminology, but because it does not describe anything about me.). Nor am I trying to influence any one's vote, one way or the other. Given the lack of choice, it makes no difference in the first place. Indeed, people will decide who they will vote for on their own, either assertively, by voting, or passive aggressively, by not voting. And, based on what my information is, there's going to be a whole lotta staying home going on. That's why in the professor's (and your) camp, "there's a whole lotta shaking going on."

But one mistake was to take all Blacks for fools, and then hiring a con artist (Al Sharpton) to bully and intimidate dissenting Blacks into compliance. It was a bad move. The second mistake, closely related to the first, was to place too much faith in mind control / behavioral modification science (for which the campaign won the highest 2008 advertising award). It was apparently over looked that a conditioned state can be extinguished in the face of punishing consequences. These consequences are Depression Era level unemployment, lost of wealth via home foreclosures, growing wealth gaps (that manifest in day-to-day lives), on, and on, coupled with insulting comments about Blacks before the whole world.

Finally, I'm pleased that the "professor" told me more as I so graciously requested. After about two months, he finally stated what he teaches. I congratulate him for doing that.

Criminal justice is one of the most important fields for Blacks there is, given the policy and process of mass incarceration and all. I'd like to get the professor's views on such issues, what he thinks about the work of the Justice Policy institute (JPI), and others who study the relationship between policies and crime. Then I'd like to review with him the current administration's policies in that regard. Since it is his field, and all.

Stay tuned.

Again, I thank him sincerely for telling me more. You said previously you wanted to be educated, well, here's your chance.

I agree with you James Wilson. The professor knows most people believe what he repeats from the campaign mis-information and dis-information. I want accountability from the whitehouse. The president isn't a leader just a bad corrupt politician from Chicago-Dalyville. There's some things one learns from being Poor and Hungry. Many experiences from living in the HOOD which might benefit a mixed confused person like the president. The Daly family is one of the most corrupt poliltical families of this country. As per the professor's statement the president was and/or is involved with the Daly family of chicago. I worked under the Bush EEOC and it was far better for Black people then under the corrupt obama-jacqueline berrien EEOC who are just dismissing all Black complaints. There's no more Black middle-class just Black working-class.

I must correct some of my previous statements. The president did appoint Daley as his chief of staff at the whitehouse. The corrupt Daley family connection to the obama's are thur Michelle Robinson-obama who was an assist to Mayor Daley.  I stand corrected. So I understand better about the connect between the Daley family and the Robinson-obama family. The president also worked for the Chicago Law Firm of Miner, Barnhill & Gallard as a civil rights lawyer. The president also work in the Business Sector for two years somewhere? He taught at U of Chicago Law School.

Know matter what there's a connection to the corrupt Daley family on both sides of the obama's.

Cronyism is clear practices of the obama's.

Obama pick for NLRB was top lawyer for union tainted by mob ties, history of corruption:

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/06/22/obama-pick-for-nlrb-unio...

Its clear to me that after reviewing Michelle Robinson-obama Bio that she was a member of the Daley crew. I mean she apart of the most politically corrupt family in this country (The Daley's). Once a member of the Daley's always a member of the Daley's gang. Look at all the positions she had from harvard law school and the salaries she recieved. Involved with Americorp to funnel money. Worked at U of Chicago along with her husband. Involved with an intern when she was a member of sibley & austin's managerment. Check out her families estate holdings.

We as Black people have to think past the obama's. They're a product of the american dream (CORRUPTION) AT ALL LEVELS. We have always had Black gangsters and phoney's. Now we have Ivy Leage sellouts and phoneys from harvard, columbia and princeston. I grew-up in and around the HOOD and being a gangster was for those who couldn't do anything else. My question is why have so many of US cover-up for the phoneys in the whitehouse??? Our great children will pay for this lie. The Black elite and civil rights so-called leaders have sold us OUT. Tavis and West could have done a better job of telling the truth.

Thats right and that is what the gop campaigned on to get back into office. But still they have passed no legislation for jobs. Tell us about that. In short, the president has ensured that all people including the poor under Medicaid will have healthcare. Even a republican voted with him on the supreme court. The chief justice!

What spin can you put on the facts professor Sanders???

Really? Poverty has been around for 4 decades. Sorry but you are wrong about that one. If the racist ass republicans would let him pass his jobs bill then everyone would be working. The congress makes laws and the president signs them into law. Read a civics book on the separation of powers. Learn how the government works please.. You are embarrassing yourself.
