A good ole boy is defined as a male who embodies the unsophisticated good fellowship and sometimes boisterous sociability regarded as typical of white males of small towns and rural areas of the South. When we look at the Tryvon Martin case we must consider this system at work. We have a vigilante who pursued and was the aggressor of Mr. Martin, we have a Sanford Police dept. who scooped up a body that was dead on arrival never trying to find the parents, a dept. who never intended on investigating this case until the public's outrage. We have a Police Chief who rubber stamped the murder of this child by saying it was self-defense! Self defense in spite of the 911 recording of Zimmerman who could see Tryvon in spite of the rain, the darkness, the hood over his head, but he could tell that the child was on drugs. In addition, and in spite of the directive by the police for Zimmerman to not pursue Tryvon but he decided (mens rea) with the intent to confront this black child as he stated before, "they always get away with it." But in spite of the common knowledge of this vigilante being the clear aggressor, he remains free. Usually when a law enforcement officer is involved in a shooting, he gets desk duty and his gun taken. Zimmerman is sleeping in comfort and still has his gun! It appears to me that there is a good ole boy system at work in Sanford FL to obstruct justice. It appears that the unsophisticated good fellowship between these males on the police force, the commission, the state attorneys office and the murderer has become typical in cases like this. The difference this time is america's watching and now you have to make a decision to mete out justice. This time sacrifices will be made. Thank you Mr. President for your Justice Department deciding to do what the Justice system of Florida would not do, Seek justice for a dead child who was murdered by a vigilante.

Some of us are tired of you coming on this site with your nonsense: "Thank you Mr. President for your Justice Department deciding to do what the Justice system of Florida would not do, Seek justice for a dead child who was murdered by a vigilante." You obtusely wrote; using this tragedy to shamelessly promote your cult-worship. You even invented a fictional account of events to do so. Have you no shame?
But you can personality-cult worship all you want. The facts are: Your cult-idol had to be forced by media and public pressure before doing anything.
Please watch this, the initial response, then ask yourself if you exhibit the type of zealotry delirium I wrote about in my post, "Is there a Crisis of Sanity in Much of Today's Black America?" Listen to what the White House press secretary says, and see if his words support your zealous assertion as quoted above.
Permalink Reply by james wilson on March 22, 2012 at 9:43pm OK, so they blocked the DemocracyNow video from being posted above. What the press secretary said was: "We are not going to become involved in a local case." That, of course, was the position before media and public pressure, and before they remembered that it is election season.
Permalink Reply by Denise Harris on March 22, 2012 at 10:00pm I too want to thank the President for sending out Eric to take care of it. Trayvon Martin deserves just that.

You should be more concerned about your own "embarrassment," and not mine. You are the one who defines institutional racism (white supremacy) as simply a "good ole boys network." Then you claimed that such a system is relegated to "rural areas typical of the south." In fact, institutionalized racism is country wide.
Moreover, you should be embarrassed by claiming that Sanford, Fla., is a "rural" area. According to the 2010 U.S. Census, Sanford has a population 53,570. It is part of the Greater Orlando Metropolitan Area which has a population of 2,134,411 people. Hardly a rural area.
The fact that the administration finally got involved in this blatant injustice is laudable. I do not contest that. What I contest is your false campaign spin, claiming that it was aboard early on and drove events. That is false. Their initial response was "we will not get involved in a local matter." They didn't meet with Trayvon's family until Thursday (March 26, 2012). The child was killed a full month ago (Feb. 26, 2012). Since then, events have been driven by the family, Millions of online petition signers, regular local protests, and increased media coverage.
Those are the facts. Your alluding to the Mississippi "confession," http://usnews.msnbc.com/-news/2012/03/22/1081, which you inaccurately called a "conviction" has nothing to do with Trayvon's murder.
Meanwhile, the savage thug who stalked and killed this child in this hate crime is still free as a forest bird.
You are correct, I won't "embarass" myself any further by reacting to someone as unethical and shallow as you are. "Good ole boys network," "rural area," you are are completely out of touch.
"Massah" is proud of me, according to you. Yet you are the one supporting Massah's Right Wing policies, not me. Why then should "Massah" be proud of me, and not you.

You see, this is what I've been trying to get you to see all along specific to your shameless attempt to campaign-spin the federal response to the murder of Trayvon Martin by the crazed long-time criminal thug zimmerman.
But you are just too darned hard-headed and zealous.

Oh, by the way, have you studied and learned by now that a Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area (SMSA), consisting of urban and suburdan units, with a population of 2.1 million + residents is not a "rural area"?
