Permalink Reply by James Sullivan on October 9, 2011 at 10:58am Dr. Daniels so far I have read Part I of your series of essays. I must say I found it quite refeshing to read what with all the bashing of the President that is going on. You do not bash him but have very intelligently written about the dilemma we are now facing. No he's not perfect but he's not the enemy. I attribute his desire for bipartisan politics and a willingness to want to work with everybody to his multi cultural upbringing...it was sad to watch the rude awakening he was in for...as far as I'm concerned it was his first real taste of hardcore racism and quite frankly it put him into a state of shock. My prayer is that he will transcend his fears and once again take a stand for truth and justice. Hopefully the Occupy Wall Street Movement will reawaken in him the principles espoused during his campaign for president.

I believe that, if you are a black man, you know what it means to be black and on the bottom. Some black men may pretend that they don't know what it means, but believe me they know.

You cannot be about the change needed if you are not suffering like everyone else. Obama has no idea what it means to take your grocery money and pay the electric bill. Obama was never middle class, he has always been upper class. If you were never middle class how can you know the needs of the middle class? I believe Obama means well, its just unfortunate that we elected a black President who was raised by two white women. He has no knowledge of what it means to be black. Obama benefited from his white side and has no no knowledge what it means to be black and on the bottom. Sad, but true. Now if we had elected Marion Barry our needs would have been at the forefront of his agenda and they would have been met.
