Permalink Reply by Har'el Amir on July 15, 2011 at 5:21pm The simple implication of painting the Jews as butchers and mass murders as a consequence of the death of Palestinians is that you are in essence delegitimizing the Jew's right to self-defense. In fact, Hamas cynically abuses the power imbalance to their advantage by continually agitating the Israelis into military conflict which inevitably, like clock-work, results in the death of non-combatant Palestinians. Hamas purposefully rains down Russian Grad rockets on civilian Israeli populations in order to illicit the Israeli rebuttal, only to run and hide deep among civilian infrastructure in Gaza, a fact proven time and again by numerous independent sources.
The only argument lacking in substance is to suggest that a nation allow its citizenry to become the targets of unrelenting terrorism and not rise to their defense. Hamas purposefully aims its rockets at schools, school buses, hospitals, surrounding residential neighborhoods, and other civilian infrastructure in Israel. We know this because Hamas is the first to admit. If Israel, with its powerful military, wanted to purposefully target Palestinian civilians, their deaths would number 100 fold the numbers killed in the collateral damage. That is the difference, Dr. West.
You cannot perennially relate the Palestinian's military inferiority with some sort of moral superiority. Bill Maher is absolutely correct when he recognizes the restraint shown by the Israeli Defense Forces, a restraint that has been acknowledged time and again by military commanders and experts from many nations. No nation in the history of warfare has dropped millions of leaflets and sent thousands of phone calls and text messages warning civilians to clear areas being operated by belligerent combatants--Israel has.

Permalink Reply by p.a. glenn on July 15, 2011 at 10:17pm It is in the best interests of both parties to work out a resolution to the Israel-Palestinian conflict so they should get together and get it done. The reason Israel exists today is because the Jews have been persecuted for thousands of years so they felt they deserved to have a place to call their own but they forgot that someone else was already there and they need to feel that same security. Until we can figure out a way to live in peace, we should not consider our species to be the most evolved on the planet. Peace means the end of exploiting others for self interest, and that is a lot to give up, but in the end we will all be able to function at our potential and that should be a good trade off. Also ditto to Carol and kudos to Cornell and Bill for a lively conversation.

The average Jew has no idea of how they are being used as pawns in the larger scheme of things. There is but a minority of Jews in that region that are true Semites and can lay claim to some sense of homeland. About 90% of the Jews that have made Israel their home and continue to participate in the expansion of Israel by encroaching even further into Palestinian territory are actually non-semitic European Khazarian Jews. Using religion as a pretext for their "return" to "The Promised Land" is part of the propaganda invented by the Rothschilds in order to excite their lesser cousins throughout Europe about the possibility of having their own piece of property (gratis) in someone else's land.
None of what's going on in Israel has anything to do with religion. It is simply a strategic move to populate that part of the planet with a people that are willing to die for causes beyond their own understanding. Those grand manipulators have had their eyes on the oil rich countries in that region for a very long time. The plan so far is working very well. Having the British and the Americans as allies the Powers that be have been able to establish a stronghold right where they wanted it. These particular Khazars pledge no allegiance to any country. They couldn't care less about religion as it is but an instrument of population persuasion. After all, if you study the history of the Khazars you will discover that they converted to Judaism (circa 800-900 A.D.) for reasons of political expediency.
Most Jews don't even know this about their own history. They are not Semites. They might be Jews, but they are certainly not Semites. There are Semitic Jews but they usually do not come from Europe. However, that should not be the focus of anyone's attention for that would only serve to further distract all of us from the "real" problem.
It's all about money. European Jews would have been made welcome in Palestine by the Islamic people there as they are known for their good manners. When the Arabs conquered Spain they allowed the Jews to continue practicing Judaism. From 709 to 1492 the Arabs and Jews got along very well and did business together with no problems. No sooner do the "Christians" oust the Arabs that then the Jews had to convert, die, or vacate.
There is no good reason for Jews, Arabs, Christians to be at odds. This only takes place when the Bankers of the world are after more money. When these bankers decide that it's time to make a move to get the money, they will use every thing at their disposal to fill their coffers. And that has become so much easier with today's technology. The intelligent and effective use of the media is the most powerful weapon today. And it is used with such a great level of expertise that most of us don't even realize how it is we are being manipulated. In the end it is Jews. Arabs, Christians, Black, White, Red, Yellow, etc. that pay with our lives for their greed.

Permalink Reply by p.a. glenn on July 16, 2011 at 9:52am Death by the hand of one human to another, whether Arab or Jew, male or female, black or white etc...cannot be pleasing to God. It is God who gives life and it should be He alone who renders death. And, He doesn't need human hands to do it!

I think it was weak for Dr. West to let that vicious Zionist off the hook by changing the conversation. It would have been really difficult for me to continue to talk to Bill Maher after he exposed himself as a heartless land grabbing Zionist. He's a wonderful humanitarian that can't see Israeli massacres of Palestinians or even a reason why Palestinians might be upset by the lot served to them. Get real! Bill Maher is a monster.

It was interesting to hear Bill Maher describe his parents. I was thinking about the various forms of the Holy Ghost (a caring Mother, a kind voice, or that inner voice of reason) as he talked about his parents and the values that they instilled in him. You had him at the point of acknowledging Grace. I am not sure if I would classify him as an atheist since his description of his parents was like he was describing the Holy Ghost. So the question is: can an atheist go to heaven?
I am not sure what it is going to take for the Jews & Palestinians to co-exist. I am struck at how neither group is interested in taking a Holy context to the issue. How can they view each other using God's eyes? I am not sure if humans get to that place of peace and love that we talk about on Saturday & Sunday if you are only looking at the question with human eyes. In a human context, each side will always reflect back on the last bombing, the last invasion, or the last occupation. The courage is whether you can be bold enough to live in the context of the faith that you practice.
