IT  is  too  easy  for  mass  media  (including  Smiley  and  West)  to  discuss  the  world  wide  topics  such  as  WIKILEAKS, GAYS  IN  THE  MILITARY  OR  THE  NUCLEAR  STAND-OFF  with  North  Korea  and  IRAN.IT  is  very  difficult  to  see  black  or  white  media  starting  discussion  on  why  African  Americans  are  locked  out  of  the  far  deeper  advancement  in  space,science  and  mathematical  technology.Which  is  vital  to  current  and  future  global  supremacy  link  to  economics.Asking  Mr.  Bolden  about  the  deeper  question  of  NASA  future  was  the  most  unfullfilled  show  on  space  science  in  2010  in  black  media.The  NASA  top  official  interview  showed  how  unimportant  blacks  are  in  the  bigger  future  plans  of  NASA.Expect  this  trend  of  mass  representation  to  excell  in  2011  and  beyond.

It is my opinion that being associated with NASA isn't really something to brag about. The technology they are working with is rocketry, which is completely useless for interstellar travel.

What is needed is people (regardless of color) who can work in the area of theoretical physics and quantum mechanics. There is a desperate need for a solution to space travel which can not resolve the problems of developing an Alcubierre drive.

For those who aren't familiar with this drive : In 1994, the Mexican physicist Miguel Alcubierre proposed a method of stretching space in a wave which would in theory cause the fabric of space ahead of a spacecraft to contract and the space behind it to expand.

The ship would ride this wave inside a region known as a warp bubble of flat space. Since the ship is not moving within this bubble, but carried along as the region itself moves, conventional relativistic effects such as time dilation do not apply in the way they would in the case of a ship moving at high velocity through flat spacetime relative to other objects.

Also, this method of travel does not actually involve moving faster than light in a local sense, since a light beam within the bubble would still always move faster than the ship; it is only "faster than light" in the sense that, thanks to the contraction of the space in front of it, the ship could reach its destination faster than a light beam restricted to travelling outside the warp bubble.

Thus, the Alcubierre drive does not contradict the conventional claim that relativity forbids a slower-than-light object to accelerate to faster-than-light speeds. However, there are no known methods to create such a warp bubble in a region that does not already contain one, or to leave the bubble once inside it, so the Alcubierre drive remains a hypothetical concept at this time.

Another possible solution might involve resolving the problems of a Heim drive. In 1977, a paper on Heim theory theorized that it may be possible to travel faster than light by using magnetic fields to enter a higher-dimensional space.

Anyone who can resolve this will have doors opened for them...and will be able to open doors for others.

You make very good points on the need to put more research, study and attention on interstellar travel.IT will take utilizing the of space equations link to propulsion that extend beyond what NASA and space science currently put forth to achieve far deeper advancement in space travel.IT is possible to travel faster in space,but like airplane transportantion greater fuel is needed over the automobile fuel use.The same is the need for deeper equations to set mass distance, proper mass propulsion, proper data link to the destiny of faster space travel.The far deeper use of space equations literally provide the fuel to mass speed-up propulsion for faster space travel.
