Newt v. Eliot

Question:

Newt Gingrich divorced his first wife for another woman while the first wife had cancer.  He then divorced his second wife for another woman.  He is the potential GOP candidate for President in 2012.

 

Eliot Spitzer, as governor of New York, paid $1500 per hour for beautiful women to have sex with him, yet no one would give a him a chance because of his past indiscretions.

 

So, why is Republican allowed to have such a deplorable past and still run for President while the Democrat is shamed out of politics completely?
