In 2005 I lost my job due to a racist manager, not only did he fire me, after working for the company for eight years. He denied me my unemployment benefits! I became disabled in 2007. I am a vietnam veteran, struggling to live on social security benefit, and awaiting my service connected benefits. They would not provide me affordable housing,because I'm renting from a relative who want's me out. I'm trying to survive on less than half of what I was earning. So yes, I know what it's like to be newly poor. And, by the way, I'm a woman.
