Go inside the charter school showdown in New York City that’s splitting the Black community.

Smiley: A constitutional amendment that guarantees every child access to an equal, high-quality education is where we have to start.

Wickham: Charter schools represent a revolt of sorts, but what we need is a revolution.

The NAACP has constantly came out against black Americans desire to see that children have a better chance at receiving a wholesome education, one that they the parents dictate. In Saint Louis Missouri the same issue was on the front burner a few years ago and this devious organization attempted to extinguish the flames. Even to the low down tactic of calling pro choice white politicians "racist". The teachers Unions are a long standing foe of parental choice. Especially as Blacks and African-Americans has tried to utilize the privilege. It is this ethnic group who for decades has been negatively affected by underperforming public schools. Even in the face of documented poll after poll for many years which have shown that Blacks and other Ethnic groups want choice. Parental Choice through the use of vouchers and also to include properly structured Charter Schools. Public schools can not possibly provide the diverse forms of learning that students need to compete in global world markets.

From long ago fought progressive ideas such as African Centered Curriculums and now parental choice, the teachers unions have been against those movements of change. The teachers Unions will coerce black legislatures at a state and national levels with threats of funding their opposition if they dare go against them by voting the will of their constituents. It is time that all bets are off and every option is available for parents to use. After all they are the ones most criticized but who has the less controls over the daily programs that produce these failures paraded out in the news media time and time again. These children are being used as a commodity like sugar, coffee, and corn. Without them the market would cease and no one would get paid.  I would never be a member of this devious organization.

I am a retired inner city teacher, a parent of six grown children who were raised in Newark, NJ. As a parent I sought after the best possible education I could for my children which is a parent's right. For parents to seek out the best education for their children though they have to be functional. My concern is for the children left in the public school system whose parents may be incarcerated, dead, or so overwhelmed with their own issues they don't take the time out to investigate the best possible educational opportunities for their children. Many of these students are then fed right into the "school to prison line" because they start failing academically at a very early age. 1 out of 9 black males ages 20-34 are currently in jail. The public school system should be overhauled creatively using restorative practices and begin to address the needs of these young people or are we just going to continue to throw away this segment of the school population?

Listen, White America will never provide the infrastructure to black School District whereby the Black and black African-American children can compete with their children for economic wealth. The teachers Unions are a natural enemy, a predator of sort, towards the efforts put forth by concerns of black inspired idealist as to the direction they want their children to go. Although I knew this back in February 2011 on a Saint Louis Mo radio station WGNU, an elective school board member who is white admitted to the fact. I have documented cases where the NAACP threaten to accuse white out state legislators as being "racist" if they lend their vote towards legislation for choice. In Milwaukee teachers refused to take courses that would better prepare them for the programs that black parents representing a movement wanted to implement. They refused that "teacher development". Black and black African-American Children are considered and used as a commodity in public schools just as those 1 of 9 black males ages 20-34 are in the prison industry.

I visited your Xanga site. One of the first things that the democrats pulled when Obama was elected was to cut funding to a program in D.C where poor Black Children could attend schools like Sidwell Friends the one his daughters attend. My Skype name is Pianki.Pianki. I want to share a compilation of videos I done back in the 90's on a Black School that was outstanding bar none.

NAACP, URBAN LEAGUE, AMERICAN FEDERATION OF TEACHERS are just some more examples of them ol' BOULE negroes at it again.  As a former (15 years) charter school teacher and principal of two such schools K - 12, I can assure you that the opportunity to determine our own pace and quality of education is definitely in the charter schools and choice.  To have a choice means simply that you are free.  We will always run into obstacles with charter schools because they are still run on government funds. A charter school is simply a franchise school - plain and simple.  The federal /state government pays based on how many students you enroll and maintain. So as long as the government has its money involved we are dependent.

The teachers union is the enemy to Black education progress all across the country. We had a program in Harlem in 1986-1990 operating from the top floor of the old Hotel Theresa. We took adult functional illiterates  - many of whom were bilingual and functionally illiterate in both languages - and we put them into our literacy program. NYC Welfare Dept did the pre test showing <5.0 reading and math scores. Six (6) weeks later  when New York City Department of Human Resources (Welfare) post tested these same students they post tested at >7.0 reading and math. YES - TWO (2) GRADE LEVELS IN BOTH SUBJECTS IN JUST SIX (6) WEEKS...!The envy and the jealousy from the Albert Shanker United Federation of Teachers Union was so deep they were frothing at the mouth ...... you know with that white bubbly foam on the side....LOL.....they even asked us if we could do what we were doing in 8 weeks instead of 6.

The teaching establishment had given up on these young adults ( and some not so young) as uneducatable and here we are making fools of them.....Bottom line we can only be successful in education when we control it all with no support from the government unless they want to give up the money with no conditions.  We must be free to teach our own....PERIOD !

Elijah Muhammad said the government should give us all the support we need to educate our own with our own teachers for 20 years.  We did not do that so the best we can do now is with the charter school.  The Boule Negroes are our enemys from within.    They are the same as the "Rebels" in Lybia.....Peace

In the nineties I travel the U.S visting talked about all black schools. In some I stayed in the building for days sitting in classrooms observing what they were doing. The CIBI schools (Council of Independent Black Insitutions) and The Marcus Garvey Academy in South Central L.A were some of the best achievment I seen. If you would like to have a copy of the video get with me on Skype and I can upload it to you, for it is several hours long.  The problem with learning and Black and black African-American Children is not the parents (for there are none to be truthful) nor white folks. The problem lies with black america society as a whole and the callous leadership that represents it. They know better but has been bought off mentally and physically into just to settle for anything.

Now the end of the term which was set for the white man has come. The average so-called Negro, the lost found member of the Black nation does not know that this is the end of the world of the white man (his rule over the Black nation). He will not listen to one of his own kind who tells or teaches him of the time and doom of the world that we have known (white man’s world).

They offer high positions and money to the so-called Negro intellectual politicians who will work against the good of the Black American people. They will accept such gratuity, for they have been deprived of love for self and kind. What so they care about the millions who are sprawled in the mud of civilization? They are content as long as they eat the buttered biscuit and the fried chicken (as their slave-fathers did).

You would not think that they would hire themselves out to be stool pigeons - white man’s bootlickers and Uncle Toms in these modern times of advanced education - but they are doing just that.

They do not want the praise and exaltation of God and their own Black people. They want it from the slavemasters’ children. The slavemasters’ children will give it to them as long as they reject themselves and kind and worship and exalt the white people.

The white man is very clever in making a public fool of the Black man. They show the brown, yellow and red man what a good job they have done on the Black man in America and throughout the earth. He is doing what nature bids him to do.

I do not blame the white man anymore for making fools of our people. It is the nature of the white man to make a fool of our people, but it is not the nature of our people to allow him to make a fool of us.

But , you have been given the knowledge of yourself, the nature in which God created you, and you still allow the enemy to make a fool of you, then you do not have the sympathy of God and the righteous, not after knowledge.   [Mr. Elijah Muhammad]
