Lil Wayne Slams Republican Tea Party, Says Obama is Criticized Because of Race

After viewers watched Republican Presidential hopefuls like Rick Perry, Mitt Romney, and Michele Bachmann go head-to-head on CNN’s Tea Party Debate on Sept. 12, many had with questions, comments and concerns about the White House hopeful’s views on social security, unemployment and President Barack Obama’s leadership.

And following in the footsteps of rappers like Lupe Fiasco and Nas, Lil Wayne recently spoke up about the Tea Party.

In a recent interview with VIBE, Lil Wayne criticized the GOP contenders political and social views.

“You learn from what the right-wing is doing and you take something from it,” said Wayne. “I feel like as a people, the most that we can do is better ourselves and learn. Then look at yourself and ask ‘Am I the person they’re talking about, or am I not?’ You have to make the most of who you are because the Republicans are never going to like us.”

Wayne also commented on the Republican Party’s consistent criticism of President Obama’s administration, admitting that his handling of the economy is debatable, but saying that some of the criticism is more about President Obama’s race than his leadership.

“I don’t think I have to say that for everybody to know that,” Wayne said.

What do you think of Wayne’s comments about the Tea Party and President Obama?

First of all, as a secular Jewish person who's old enough to remember when anti-Semitism was no big deal, I completely agree with LW on his views about republican racisism and Mr. Obama.  One thing I've learned over time is that if someone is racist, they're also anti-Semetic (I'm using those words colloqually, for a full explaination see "Man's Most Dangerous Myth: The Fallacy of Race" by Aldous Huxley, c 1954).  Besides, black and white have been superseeded by green.

When people talk about Obama's "handling of the economy", it's a red herring.  I'm really suprised about how many progressives, etc are falling for it.  This simple fact is that he's gotten maybe a third of what he actually wants passed because his opposition is so rich & organized...and smart.  Everything that got passed was gutted first.

I think one thing he can be blamed for is his financial team.  For God's sake, these are the people who screwed the pooch in the first place!  Liz Warren, Robert Reich, and Simon Johnson never had a chance.  Everything that got passed that would stimulate the economy was watered down to the point that it became too little too late.  Then, to add insult to injury,'pugs say, no shout, how his ideas suck, and he's an idiot.

He needs to be more like LBJ.  Yeah, I know the times are different, but I wonder how different they are at the FBI.  Maybe a lot, maybe a little.  Either way, there's a lot more information out there generally than there was back then.

Sorry to be repetitive, but Fight Fire with Fire
