Tavis, you don't like President Obama, you never have and you will find ANYTHING to bring him down.  Your mother is a preacher, I can only imagine she can see through your ruse to bring the President down.  You will find any thing to do just that.  You say it is because he is not doing anything for black people.  Well what about the Health Care program.  What about the tax incentive.  Now the Republicans want to repeal that.  Why don't you put your efforts into that.  Listen Tavis, you need to back off.  Take up your cause for Black people and DO something.  Your conventions aren't doing a darn thing but a lot of talking and NO action.  I have put more things into place in my community and I have a mentee who is still on the right path.  There are other young Black people who are accomplishing fantastic things.  STOP trying to get the President to do your job...YOU DO IT!  I am tired of your stuff.  LEAVE MY PRESIDENT ALONE!!!

Rev. Sharpton turned his back on me twice. First time after Black Star News investigated my story and the second when I called in on his radio show. We Black people are too trusting of each other. Tavis hasn't gone far enough for poor and working class Blacks. Lisa your right about the president he's not Black, Halli and him share the same problem. The president will never be a MLK Jr. We must hold the president accountable. What has happened to the contracts/money that was supposed to go to HBCU's and Veterans??? We are in denial about so many things affecting US. The truth will set US free!!!

The Rev. Al Sharpton says he plans to sue HBO for $500 million and pledges that his plans to explore a run for the White House would not be derailed by what he calls a "smear campaign."

His annnouncement came in response to cable channel HBO's airing of an 1983 FBI surveillance videotape that shows Sharpton talking with an undercover agent about a drug deal.

The tape, shot nearly 20 years ago, aired Tuesday evening on HBO. It was obtained for an episode of HBO's Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel that reported on possible ties between the sports world and organized crime.

The grainy, 90-second clip shows Sharpton listening as an undercover FBI agent proposes a drug deal. At one point on the tape, the agent is heard offering a 10 percent cut to Sharpton for finding a buyer.

"Every kilogram we bring in — $3,500 to you. How does that sound?" asks FBI Agent Vincent Quintana as Sharpton appears to nod. "So if we bring in 10, you'll make $35,000."

"I hear you," Sharpton responds.

"But that's a drip in the bucket," the agent adds.

"Well if [the buyer] can, if he's gonna do it, he'll do it much more than that," says Sharpton, who can be seen wearing a large cowboy hat while holding an unlit cigar in his mouth.

When I clicked on that ABC story that referenced Sharpton, near the bottom of the article it infers something else too that I really HOPE is not true of Sharpton.

BACK TO OBAMA....

To be clear, Obama has been a disaster for Civil Rights, Civil Liberties and in part the Economy.  He not only retained most of Bush’s REPUBLICAN policies but actually expanded and/or extended them hence the Patriot Act, warrantless wiretapping, Drones, unauthorized Wars (Libya), NDAA....who knew he loved militancy so much?!  As a Democrat, I certainly did not which is why I voted for him back in 2008 bc I thought he was a DEMOCRAT with democratic values and hence a democratic agenda to include democratic policies for ALL and yes that includes minorities and specifically BLACK communities & THEIR concerns too.  Nonetheless, it appears I and so many other millions of democratic constituents were simply WRONG or shall I say “mislead” to believe that Obama would represent the Left view once in the WH, whereas he instead, shifted from Left to CENTRIST to now appearing to lean Right...certainly not what Democratic voters voted for in 2008....he should NOW be running on the Republican ticket along with the rest because truth be told Obama scares me just as much as those Republicans do! 

So to ALL who say FOUR MORE YEARS, my response is “ok but this time tell me EXACTLY how will such a vote benefit ME and MY COMMUNITY and OUR concerns?”
