Permalink Reply by Penguin Board of Directors on March 22, 2011 at 10:20pm I see. Okay, thank you, Bro. Dennis. I am glad you agree this forum is open to the public. And, since the public comprises various people with more colors than the rainbow, the forum is an all-color site to me. I agree with you that that is the truth. We will make better strides if we shift our focus to higher-value issues. To me, seeing race in everything is boring and anachronistic. I prefer that people strive to break the glass ceiling and move up the socio-economic ladder. Then, they can do away with racial crutches. Magic Johnson does not go to bed thinking "Damned, I am black! He does not conveniently forget that he is black, but his reference point is neither color nor race. Magic employs people of all colors in his chain of businesses. Thank you for the clarification, Bro. Dennis.

@ Yomi Ace
Smiley & West are black - and their names and pictures are at the top of this site.
It's open to the public -
THAT IS THE TRUTH -
If it was the other way around - and 2 whites were at the top of this site ?
It would be totally different.
Specially if it was 2 right wing whites ... and even worse if it were 2 white t-party member at the top of this site.
THAT IS THE TRUTH.
I'm here all week ... anything else ?
Permalink Reply by Dennis C. Latham on March 23, 2011 at 12:42am @ Yomi Ace - something that will never sit right with me is as follows. I hope this doesn't upset you - because I only deal in THE TRUE FACTS, PROOFS, TRUTHS and Personal Experience.
""To me, seeing race in everything is boring and anachronistic.""
to me ? not seeing race as being a problem when racist acts are brought into the light is evil, ignorant, and wicked.
I made an observation of THIS SITE that is owned by blacks - and I compared it to what I have seen on the many white owned sites that harbor and create a breeding ground for racist whites to release their hatred, ignorance and racism. www.sodahead.com and www.wsfa.com are just 2 of the 30+ I have been investigating, researching, documenting and watching for over 4+ years.
""I prefer that people strive to break the glass ceiling and move up the socio-economic ladder.""
See.... you prefer - you shouldn't allow your preferences - BLOCK what is obvious.
I have some video documentation of blacks being abuses - ONLY BECAUSE they were black.
""Then, they can do away with racial crutches.""
As long as the only unarmed men being gunned down by white police are black ?
As long as the judicial system is set up to give blacks more time than whites for the same crime ?
As long as there are white hate groups - growing at an alarming rate since Obama took office ?
As long as I keep getting death threats from right wing, conservative christians who belong to a t party ?
There are going to be racial clutches ... I'm just not the one using them.
Neither are the blacks that are attacked by racism - again - blacks have more forgiveness and love in their hearts than any other race.
""Magic Johnson does not go to bed thinking "Damned, I am black!""
um ... do you think I go to bed every night hating that I am black ?
What is the purpose of this statement ?
""He does not conveniently forget that he is black,""
being black in America - TRUST ME - NO ONE FORGETS WHEN THEY ARE BLACK.
""but his reference point is neither color nor race.""
I doubt you seriously know Magic's ""REFERENCE POINT""
""Magic employs people of all colors in his chain of businesses.""
I also EMPLOY and WORK WITH and FOR people of ALL COLORS
I also have TRUE FRIENDS of ALL COLORS.
""Thank you for the clarification, Bro. Dennis.""
Now ? you have TRUE CLARIFICATION from my end. - you can either believe or not.
It's not up to me to make you believe.
It is my duty, honor and obligation to spread and teach THE FACTS, PROOFS, TRUTHS and Personal Experience. I don't do opinions - opinions to me are for the weak who don't know or want THE TRUTH.
Permalink Reply by Penguin Board of Directors on March 23, 2011 at 8:19am Thank you, Bro. Dennis, for the 'true' clarification. At certain points in their development, various people come to recognize what is really meant by truth, fact, and proof. Oh, add axiom. I like to practise my preachment, rather than sermonizing. I know you do the same. I already see it.
My position is that hating any human being on account of color and continuing to stick to such hate, regardless of any change in circumstance or the prospect of one, is a disservice to human growth.

Why is this news? Most of the money is "white only" anyway...someone just decided to label it as such.
The real question is: with all of our mega successful "brothers and sisters" buying diamond teeth and gold toliets...where are your scholarships? I don't mean a couple thou here, a couple there...I mean the millions. Where is the Oprah American Black Kids endowment? The Robert Johnson African-American Educational Trust? I think our problem is we sit around waiting for "them "to give something to "us". All these Black athletes, business men, politicans should be pooling their money like the Gates Foundation to tackle these domestic issues.

Permalink Reply by Andrea on March 25, 2011 at 3:22pm Okay I am lost here on this post - and Maybe I am the minority and just dont belong here. BUT What they hell are you talking about?
I seem to be the most ignorant piece of crap there is- "blacks" really feel this way towards "us" whites? I say Fuckz U- to you all. Not over the color- but that you would honestly think that I, "we" as Whites- think this way.
Seems to me you all think that we sit around at our girlfriend Friday lunch and Topic is how to Keep the "Black Clowns Down". Seriously- you all have way too much time on your hands if you think we are talking about any other group then Our own immediate NEEDS! FYI....
Hell. we are talking about how my daughter wants Elmo to Run for president, at 4 years old. We, I am talking about how I screwed up as a divorced matha! How my Ex has NOT paid his support- Again- basically same s***... AS in any COLOR! And that's a fact.
I assure you "blacks" WE, I, Never have had even had a chat ON HOW TO KEEP A "BLACK" CLOWN DOWN. All I try and do is explain that Elmo is NOT allowed to Run for President- he has a job on Sesame Street! Tell that to YOUR 4 year old!

Permalink Reply by Penguin Board of Directors on March 25, 2011 at 5:34pm @ both Andrea and pinklady404,
I managed to smile (stoically) reading the unfortunate development here. I smiled, not because I enjoyed any bit of the pain we all bore, but because I recognized this event as the type of break in communication and understanding fueling our national tragedy; racial virus. The virus afflicts the low and the mighty, but takes a disproportionate toll on the former; the mass of our people.
Andrea got frustrated, believing that she and "her race" were being unfairly vilified. She felt swept along with some other white folks, even when she neither endorsed nor shared their positions. Did I understand where Andrea was coming from? Yes. I have experienced these things in the past and still do. Would I endorse Andrea's manner of expressing her frustration? Nope; because in a fit of fury, Andrea gave up on colorlessness (colorblindness) and regressed to wholesale prejudice; the very trait that triggered her own frustration. She could not validly generalize the perception of a few to an entire group or race! This was precisely pinklady404's objection which I share. I do not ask 'pinklady' to embrace racial prejudice, but to situate Andrea's frustration in context. Thus, in our own small way, we can begin to break the cycle of racial prejudice that only diminishes us and our U.S. I also hope that Andrea makes time to reflect on the mistaken part of her reaction and learn from it. An apology will not be out of place, if she feels up to it. But, we need her to continue to be a part of our vibrant forum.
Thank you both.

Permalink Reply by Andrea on March 26, 2011 at 8:34am Hey All ya- I am back. Like that one or not, Hell I am not really sure this is good idea coming back.
Ignorance- To think that someone (me, in this case) calling "ya all" as a ALL BLACKS, is ignorant and ridiculous. the "You all"- a term, affixed to who ever wants to claim it. Appraently, Pink lady thought she was in the group. Other then news or other media sources, I dont know of societal issues concerning one group vesrus another.
With that being said, why wouldn't I be Shocked at some of the language put out be YA'LL concerning your opinions?
Frustration... hmmm... the frustration felt is that I have no idea what you all are talking about. I just dont get it. I came on here cause I like Tavis' show. Period.
No apology is needed from me- I dont know where you would get that one is owed. Opinions, like it or not, are just that- opinion. Nothing to apologize on anyone's part, least of all mine.
I feel like I might have stumbled upon Reverend "grandstand" Wrights blog page...
