West talks about his decision to leave his post at Princeton for a new role at Union Theological Seminary.

Smiley: Getting to you in New York is a lot easier than getting to you in Princeton.

West: It was time to go. Union has always been home. I started my career there.

Good luck but please do not go to far from us.

“Divine Perfect Timing” …

“New York City, already has Open Arms that, Welcomes you!” …

* Ref.: “Dr. West Big Announcement to leave Princeton,
To Reside back to: Union Theological Seminary” …

First, I would like to say: “Congratulations, and continued Blessings, be unto you, for a great job well done!”… (smile) …

I truly, commend you (Dr. West), for your “outstanding committed years of service”, while “displaying a true humanitarian heart”, you have provided throughout the “Princeton Years”, and beyond! … (smile) …

However, this (particular divine journey road), has come to a complete end … However, your “divine mission in this life, has only just begun!” … (smile) …

Our Heavenly Father above, has truly blessed you, “beyond measure” indeed! … The lives, of the many individuals, in whom, you’ve been “blessed & privileged” to have engaged in such “detailed and intellectual” conversations, will never be forgotten …

You’re gift, for having the ability to explain such complicated matters, and displaying the understanding results, of those conversations, is definitely your “trade mark” indeed, and those “prophetic words of wisdom”, will be cherished through out the Chambers Halls at Princeton, and in the deep hearts & minds, of those individuals, who were blessed to have been in your company! … (smile)

Now, it’s the appointed “Divine Perfect timing” for you, to move forward, as (we - the viewers / witnesses’, of this transition in your new life journey), do look very much forward, in seeing you (grow & blossom), even more, into “higher heights” and even more “deeper depths”, in your (spiritual & inner growth) from within, as you walk through, the “new” but, somewhat “familiar doors”, of “unclaimed and new opportunities” that, awaits for you to walk through …

“Remember when you can, from time to time, to “reflect back” only on the “New Learned Lessons” of your Princeton experience, and know for certain that, the (Lord above), who is the “Divine Counselor & Divine Provider” of all “intellectuals counselors & economical provisions”; he will continue to guide you, protect you, and will meet all of your needs, in “everyway imaginable and possible”, while, he continues to lead you to accomplish all that, he wants you to do for him, in your “resting, but familiar home place” at the: Union Theological Seminary, in New York City, where it all really all began for you, from the very beginning! … “THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME!” … (smile) …

Ps: “What a wonderful & rich life, you have had!” … (smile)… Not many individuals, can do what is happening to you!” … “REMEMBER TO CONTINUE TO: “ LIVE, LOVE & ENJOY”, THE NEW JOURNEY, THAT YOUR LIFE HAS TO OFFER!” … (smile) …

Sincerely, with many blessings & beyond,
Ms. Deborah J. Steele

I agree with Graham...."Good luck but please do not go to far from us."

"conservative hegemony starting to dissolve".....I hope so!

Thank the Lord for blessing you Dr. West. You are sent there for a great reason and you are needed.

The direction recent Seminary graduates, and Divinity masters have taken deserves attention. What will you do about the preaching of "the prosperity gospel" by mostly megachurches?

The smaller traditional churches are taking a beating regarding membership, because of the bright and shinny new megachurches.

It amazes me the amount of extremely educated Blacks who are flocking to the megachurches for employment, to cash in on all that money.
