Permalink Reply by Bennetta on February 12, 2012 at 11:46pm Father Pfleger is indeed a true trailblazer for Justice and Equality and really does live everything he speaks. He has helped thousands of poor people on Chicago's South and West sides for years and has never been afraid to challenge anything nor anybody he deems harmful to the city's progress/programs targeted in poorer neighborhoods; this list includes everybody from mayors to U.S and state senators/reps to aldermen to media, etc. So I'm glad that the Archdioces is finally recognizing his diligent commitment to COMMUNITY.
Permalink Reply by Fr. Russ Carmichael on February 13, 2012 at 2:58am I think that is wonderful. He wears a collar and to me that symbolizes what he should be doing, no matter what faith he belongs to; if we are to change anything it takes all of us to challenge the wrongs of this world... It takes all of us to recognize we are all equal and should be treated with dignity... Should be a no brainer... Chicago is fortunate to have Father Pfleger...
