The longtime head of St. Sabina’s parish in Chicago was suspended by his boss, Cardinal George, for his comments on Smiley & West three weeks ago. Smiley: He is as authentic as they come. A truth-teller, committed to bearing witness. West: He's a white brother who loves Black people more than many Black people love themselves.

"He's a white brother who loves Black people more than many Black people love themselves." Profound.
It takes an opened Mind's eye to appreciate how a White man can ever love a Black man more than a Black man loves himself.
Truth must be told. Look at the interviewer of Tavis Smiley on the MSNBC show just aired in this forum. Look at someone like Anderson Cooper. Look at Jimmy in this forum. Look at Jennifer Warren. If all you still see is a White man or woman representing the same old oppressor-symbol of slavery, God help your Mind's eye.
It is a class struggle, people! Stop fighting the wrong war. Some of my best friends cut across all manner of color, race, and creed. There are some Blacks I cannot accept as a pride to my race, until and unless they are 'born again' (secularly speaking). I am from a race of which I am justifiably proud; the Black race. Anyone, Black, Brown, White or Yellow, who has issues with that, needs help. The same goes for folks of other races and colors. They are proud of who they are and their races and should not be made to look or feel otherwise. We can agree to disagree, query unacceptable conduct, and work collectively to fix the wrinkles. Anything short of honest and fair dealing is condemnable and hypocritical. We must work to STAMP THAT OUT.

Kyle,
It surely does. The challenge is that you can only help those who wish to be helped. It was not by accident that Christ often asked the blind and the lame what it was they wished Him do for them! I was trying to mimic the exact way KJV framed it.

Ironically, the only thing sickening is that you are still around. Last thing anyone remembered about you was that you were fuming and threatening to follow your sister out the door if she left. She seemed to have slammed the door in your face. If you left, just about a handful would have missed you; trust me! You can try it for size now; it's not too late. Oh, I forgot that you always wait for and follow instructions, faithfully (minus accountability). I love faithful servants, too. They make easy ride ...:)
