You are in good company. I do not think Obama needs to talk more than he is already doing and done. He should concentrate on the doing aspect of his national assignment. His appropriate aides should be handling the sales job. Importantly, he must shed even the mere appearance of being a Wall Street apologist or sympathizer; including kicking the likes of Timothy Geithner off his cabinet. I know he called out the chief bankers (Geithner's mentors) as the "fat cats" that many of them deserve as title, he has to put a real bite to his words. As I have stressed elsewhere, the 2012 election is all about the economy. Former President Clinton has a familiar retort that is apropos in the circumstance. "It's the economy; ...!"
Obama is a destiny child. Detractors can kick at him, but they cannot change that. They can keep doing the name-calling; they cannot rewrite history. They can deny everything else; they cannot replace his name as the 44th POTUS and the first African-American to be so sworn -- a classical, first-of-its-kind shattering of America's more than 200-year history. Not even 'birther' conspiracy theorists and their numerous clones stood the slightest chance of pulling that off.
As I have said before, supporting Obama as POTUS does not mean that one cannot and should not objectively and meritoriously critique any policy of his administration adjudged anti-people or unAmerican. In fact, Obama himself invites healthy critique and/or criticism. Democracy ought to be about pursuing the greater good of the greater majority. That is not negotiable. Attacks on the person and office of the POTUS make no sense, whether the incumbent is Jefferson, Kennedy, Bush, or Obama.

Permalink Reply by Walter Simtec Simmons on September 7, 2011 at 6:10pm Hi Ms Dollmaker and welcome these hot topics. The President is well able to hold the hottest seat in the land as president. He said when he was running that it wouldn't be easy and that he couldn't do it alone.
We must understand that the president can not wave a magic wand under a democratic system of government. It must go through the proper channels. We the people must get behind the issues that we support and demand that our elected officials do the right thing.

Permalink Reply by Walter Simtec Simmons on September 7, 2011 at 9:12pm I really think that not enough attention has been paid to the other side of the equation The Republican controlled congress. Ever proposal POTUS has been held up for leverage dealing with other special interest profane that totally offset anything this administration is trying to accomplish. Obama had tried to bring government together but there lies the existent of his actual power. Congress is not doing it's constitutional duty by doing the people work in an expedient manner. It like u have a boss but you dictate your wants and need above what your boss expects. As taxpayers we need to hold all representatives accountable if they are not doing the work of the people.

No you're not. This has been the big disappointment of Obama. IMHO, he was set up by the Repugs. And in the, possibly misplaced and delusional spirit of compromise, tried to "be nice" to the people that started screwing him even before he was in office. As far as I'm concerned, when Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts choked on Obama's middle name during his inauguration, I knew what was comming. His performance at the State of the Union speech gave him a track record of being an unashamed racist with no respect for Obama and his office. I just wrote a blog post concerning going on the offensive. What I said is that we need to do what the Repug's have been doing. I.e. market and close. Fight fire with fire.
