Can a U.S. President kill American citizens anytime, anywhere?

Smiley:

"If you end up on the list, the Obama Administration asserts its right to off you."

West:

"It’s sad to see Bush Administration policies expanded under the Obama Administration."

Hey.  It is what it is and in this case, what it's always been.  In the past, targeted killings of Americans by the American government without fair trial or legitimate reason have been covert operations.  The "Cointell" program and such.  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. couldn't even be looked at as a violent threat but hey.  These government goons just want to get naked and nasty now, they're not hiding their hands anymore.  The world is starting to look like a "Terminator" movie with drones overhead seeking to kill anything moving in certain areas.  The only difference is it's not the machines behind the killing, I think.
With the Obama administration having unreviewable authority to kill Americans the executive branch has unilaterally determined to pose a threat--makes them a terrorist too.
My grave concern is that hopefully, from this moment on, with unreviewable authority from this administration's government, there will be no abuse of power/facism.
American's freedom to participate in nonviolent marches, rallies, protests and the like with leaders against the administration policies should not be considered as posing a threat to them; and a grave mistake for the participants.
Dr. West I have been thinking that the US government is and has been using the same tactics as Al Quaeda.  The US government is now the terrorist and its terrorizing the citizens.
This definately is a scary revolation. I disagree period with the killing of any human being....terrorist....citizen...or any other fancy adjective we attach to people that disagree with our thought pattern. Its hypocracy and International and National 'bullying' being carried out by our National Goverment.
I am sorry, but I don't believe this and I am going to check with my state's politicians and CBC and others I communicate with to find out  what is going on.  If I find that what you have said is true, then I will contact everyone I can to have something done to change this.  I sure didn't know this was something the Bush Administration had in effect.  Thanks for the head's up.  I don't care if it is Liberal or Conservative, I don't like it!
This story has a level of sensationalism to it "the Obama Administration asserts its right to off you", really now.  The "assertion" is that the government has the right to kill suspected terrorist.  You guys make it sound like the administration will kill anyone whom it deems an enemy.  This administration has no record of doing any harm to innocent citizens.
Smiley and West: As-Salaam Aliakum: Response to your question. "Can a U.S. President Kill American Citizens anytime, anywhere"? If Barack Obama is ruled by Satan, yes, but God will deal with him for his sins and God will burn him in a lake of fire when judgement day arrives, mark these words in stone!!!
Did you know that the official terrorist list has reached well over 1 million people Internationally. Its no telling how many of those people are American citizens. But the question I ask is who has the authority to just kill anyone because they want to? Where is this type of behavior acceptable in the U.S. constitution besides after a trial and guilty conviction, and sentencing which involves the death sentence being handed down?

No one (including the President) has a right to kill for any reason. Dr West made reference to "just wars." I don't know if any war can be just. But if so, that still does not grant any one a right to kill. If you must, you must (in self-defense situations). But let's not mistake even that as a right.
What country have you been living in?  The US government does murder or railroad into jail anyone or group that it deems is an enemy worthy of such.  Go and read about some of the assassination attempts on Fidel Castro.  Study the FBI directive on the Black Panther Party.  You could be a nice guy, like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and end up getting a government bullet in the throat.  You better wake up.  You could end up on that terrorist list to be terminated just like there are regular everyday American citizens all across the country that can't get on an airplane.

Truthout.org hit it right on the head “(These)death list have been used to kill individuals far from any battlefield or when they are not presenting an immediate threat.”  See this

Wake up every body.  Why do people believe the govt won’t commit acts of terror amongst its own people even though history has proven otherwise time and time again. What’s being reported is real and this policy has actually been in place for a fair period of time now. If you’ve noticed there have been tons of “homegrown terror threats” as of late (which were orchestrated by the FBI see this and this) which the govt and DHS have used as an opportunity to continue to fringe on our rights and are now encouraging us to snitch on each other because your neighbor may be a potential “terrorist, notice all of the see something say something messages being plastered across the country.   According to the join terrorism task force being interested in animal rights and being bald are all potential signs that an individual may be a terrorist not to mention a number of other absurdities that can land you on a terrorist watch list See this and this. Ironically the U.S. drops predator drones on innocent civilians throughout the Middle East and still imperializes Africa and Latin America yet has the nerve to call anybody a terrorist.

My problem is that Tavis and Dr. West inferred that "President Obama" is up to something no other president has ever done.  Shoot if you don't like someone, don't try to find something you don't like and act as if they are the only perpertrators, heck Bush had bunches of people killed, Bush's VP nearly killed his own friend while "hunting", not to mention the soldiers deaths that have been covered up.  What Tavis and West brought up has been done for years, do Tavis and West...bring up a new topic.
