A lot of people stayed home because Obama blew the big issues like getting rid of Bush Tax Cuts from jump, at least getting the Public Option if not single payer, ending up with a National Health Care Law(Obamacare) written by the HEALTH CARE INDUSTRY! On top of that, he blew the stimulus money on herky jerky crap like Cash for Clunkers instead of bigger job incentives, job training, and getting a much bigger stimulus package considering the size and scope of the damage done by Bush! It's not people's fault they didn't go to the polls! What do you expect when Obama is too big a dumbazz to see the repercussions of his moronic actions! OBAMA DEPRESSED THE HELL OUT OF HIS ELECTORATE WITH HIS STUPIDITY! It's Obama's complacency and dumbazz decisions that caused people to stay home 2010! He made little effort to do the right things to get the economy up and unemployment rate down! Soon after taking office Obama resorted to Republican lines of communication like "personal responsibility", ignoring government complacency and big business scams that brought us down! He, in effect, put the blame on the people! Instead of fixing the economy he swoops over the fixes even with the clear advantage of the supper majority to get the job done, instead condescends to Republican demands, and scolds those unemployed for not having enough education in the face of millions with college degrees who can't get a job! Not because they are laying on the couch but because of government complacency we're not creating enough jobs! They are letting Trade Agreements take our jobs and lower our wages! Obama recently made another Trade Agreement recently, all while blaming congress for doing nothing to create jobs while he signs on to having even more American jobs destroyed! From jump, Obama resorted to methods of dealing with the economy like fattening the banks with tax revenues for banker's bailouts and allowing them to rob card holders to pay their bailout, and lowering rates for banks to loan from the government while the government borrow and bankers print more money, increasing the poor man's pain with inflation! It's really Reagan's Trickle Down Economics he's been running! He won't admit it! But that's what it is! It's like having a Republican President! What remains of the Republican party today is just a shell of what that party used to be. For me it's not about only voting against Republicans, they speak with a fork tongue. I believe in the end they will hang themselves but we have to pay attention to the political landscape. Yes, we are blessed in this country and have that freedom of speech.

Communism and Fascism was on the rise and they were spreading their wings to destroy democratically elected governments then, and the Republicans were racist capitalists. To the right, people, called "Roosevelt, " fascist and compared him to Hitler.  To the left, according to my history books, many and and many communists were angry and stated Roosevelt was not doing enough or did not do enough when he had the chance, so kick the bum out. 

All the same things, words, and tactics from both sides are being used against Obama today. Since the speech is the same on the far left and far right - what do we call them today?

I recently learned that "Black Tuesday", the Stock Market Crash of 1929, sent our country into the great depression and unemployment rose to 25%. Unemployment today, I believe is at 10%, or somewhere in that percentile area. President Franklin D. Roosevelt with his "New Deal", applied both, "Trickle up," and "Trickle down," economics, but mainy "Trickle up", to get much needed jobs to the American people. He and his administration had people building and repairing schools, roads, national parks,.... but people on both the left and right were still angry with him.

However, by 1937, our country unemployment was at around 17%. We got Social Security and alot of other benefits from that President and his administration although the left wanted to throw the bum out for not doing enough.

There are some Americans who will not be satisfied until Democracy is no more.

I'll give you credit for pointing out that being President with this Congress is a hard job. However, Obama made his job hard. If he had taken advantage of the super majority from jump and passed all the laws he could have his first 100 days like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid wanted him to, he wouldn't be in this jam! Obama backed into that corner trying to change the culture of Congress instead of doing the things most urgent! Jobs topped the list and he's gone nearly 3 years without moving on them most aggressively, until recently, he could have while having the power of the super majority in congress! Think about where we'd be if he was as aggressive from jump as he is now! He wouldn't be begging for congress to give him more money for big projects because he'd have a super majority congress, still!

Obama's a bughead boob that was upside down in his approach to the problem! He's riding in on a white horse while letting the bastards that busted us, steal away with Bush Tax Cuts, and bankrolling them so they can pay themselves big bonuses! Scandalous! Obama's just a con artist! Hilarious that you're still making excuses for Obama! It just ain't funny. I'm not laughing.

So, if I had graduated from Harvard, had the resume, and accolades Obama has, on top of being a very popular elected President, I wouldn't have been soo dumb as to back myself into the corner Obama has when it could have been avoided. Therefore, I wouldn't have some guy, like me, whipping up on me!

There's book smarts because knowledge increases your ability to make good decisions. True intelligence is hard to measure. I don't have a huge vocabulary but I'd bet on me if there could be a true intelligence test to see who's smarter between me or Obama.

You don't just walk into Washington without a process. It takes lots of money to get where Obama is. He was helped a lot by having a grandmother who was a banker. His mother had access to all of that and the expert guidance to success which was passed on to Obama! Everybody ain't able.

Regardless of what he says, he was born into a good deal of access to money! That makes a big difference! Parents were very educated! That makes a big difference! So, to make that challenge to me who had no biological father growing up, step father not very involved or encouraging, mother with a 6th grade education not encouraging to reach high but threaten to beat you until you rope like okra if you didn't at least get a passing grade average! Could have handed out those threats and I'b be straight A's! Both parent with too little respect for education or seeing I have it! Just wanted me to get good enough grades not to embarass them and get me out of the house at 18! No discussion about college!

It can only be considered pure nonsense and an egregious attempt to excuse someone soo blessed, yet soo complacent as Obama who has no excuse for the path he took to back himself into that corner! Obama could be sleeping in the most comfortable bed but he chose a bed of hot rocks! He made his own bed hard and hot! How does that escape you?! As far as excuses, Obama doesn't have a leg to stand on! It's pure, ghastly stupidity that put Obama in a corner sleeping on hot rocks, a bed he made for himself! I believe it was intentional because he's too big a coward to stare down the socialist label! THE BOY HAS A YELLOW STRICK ALL OVER HIS BODY! HE A COWARD!

I feel for you doing school. It can be very hard, especially if you're required to live in a dorm with all the distractions and noise. I asked a Rhodes Scholar how she did it and she told me she studied ahead before she took courses for credit! After I got a general business degree I couldn't get a job in a bad economy to take advantage of my education. Later, I enrolled in electronics and got straight A's using what she told me. I just made sure I studied well ahead of the lesson the teacher was to give. It's a lot about exposure and repetition of study material to plant it firmly in your mind! It wasn't easy since I was working 40 hours a week to boot!

Unfortunately all the bad eating, because of unsupportive parents, in college had already begun to work on me and doctors got a hold of me with their antibiotics. I was only able to complete that one semester before getting chopped up by doctors, having my back and knees get worse due to having those surgeries screw up my circulation. Otherwise, I could have earned enough bucks as an electronics technician to become an engineer and who knows what was possible after that.

Some people are fortunate in life. Obama can't hold a candle to me! He has a lot more knowledge but when it comes to smarts I've got him beat by a mile! If they turned the government over to me right now I'd gather people with knowledge and institute amendments to give the vote directly to the people to make new laws. I believe with that I could turn the economy around within a year. I wouldn't waste a lot of time dealing with the criminal Republicans! Austerity is not the way to go. It destroys jobs while the objective is to create more jobs. The rich caused this mess and should have to pay to correct it!

Government plays a big part in creating jobs. Neither government or business is a lone wolf in job creation! Obama didn't debunk that myth that only business creates jobs when Republicans declare it to be the unvarnished truth, when it's not! Yes, you can come up with an idea and business plan and loans but you can't keep it going very long without the government organized to make sure people have money to spend to buy what you produce! That's the problem today.

The government foolishly allows the people to have too little money to buy because trade agreements have taken their jobs and lowered their wages! It's nothing but the corruption of campaign contributions Obama whores for, making trade agreements that take our jobs! Obama is two faced! He wants to have it both ways! He's a walking, talking snow job!

We don't have to allow products in our country that destroy our jobs. That forces investments in American businesses allowed to access our markets! It's a bunch of malarkey that we have to be so heavily involved in the global economy to prosper. We have a big enough population in America and enough technical advantages that we can have exports without allowing cheap products to destroy our jobs! We stupidly import more than we export!

The government should be involved in building environmentally friendly factory space since we require it, unlike China. These other governments are building factories and disregard environmental standards we have. Therefore, they can make cheaper products even if they have the same labor cost. We don't have to let them into our markets but can invest to make products there to sell to their markets and other markets around the world! Sell products we make to our markets. No reason to lower our standard of living because of countries who do not have our standards! If we can afford to let cheap products in without destroying our jobs, no problem! We need regulation!

This is what you get when government is controlled by the rich and big business! There's more money for big business to make cheap products in China and sell them here! Before you know it, we can't afford to buy them because we don't have enough jobs and our wages are too low! They are foolishly working against themselves while destroying American jobs! Yet, they yell socialist like that is the main thing to fear! Out of control capitalism is the greater enemy! Milton Friedman's Free Markets is a detriment to developed countries!

It does not have to be this way at all for America to prosper! We have too few if jobs by electing to pander to Republican and big business will! Obama is going along with the New World Order which is designed to make the rich richer and the poor poorer, breaking us down to labor standards of third world countries! We need to stop supporting Obama and anyone like him! They are nothing but a bunch of traders! We need to give the people direct votes to make laws! The congress is too corrupt to properly provide for the common welfare of the people and that needs to be defined as encompassing economic wellbeing!

Great, Obama saved GM! I applaud him! He needed to do a lot more of that! He needed to use his professor skills to explain the difference in Milton Friedman's Free Markets and Keynesian Economics! Milton Friedman's Free Markets economics work to build poor countries with cheap labor which attract investments. It doesn't work for developed countries as you can see! It takes jobs to cheap labor, developing underdeveloped countries and the idiots expect us to buy the products they bring back with our reduced wages and lost jobs!

They extend us credit to do it! Before you know it, the people are deep in debt and the government is too stupid to let the people off the hook with debt forgiveness since it's a scam job from the onset! Huge debt was pushed on the people to keep up with prices they can no longer afford with their poor wages. So, they used credit cards hoping things will get better! But things don't get better because the government let the banks manipulate to keep us in debt once they get their claws in us!

Obama needs to reverse changes made to bankruptcy Bush made! It use to be a safeguard to prevent being pushed into debt because bankruptcy was soo easy to get! The banks bought Bush and enough people in congress, doing all they wanted! The results, people are stuck in debt and can't spend enough, thus the economy is not producing enough jobs!

Obama is too much an idiot to address it and do debt forgiveness to get the spenders back and stop letting the money go into the wrong pockets that can't be taxed enough to offset the damage done by outsourcing our jobs and lowering our wages, screwing up our tax base in the process! Therefore the states are suffering and the Fed can't help! Schools are closing and teachers are getting pink slips, and just a whole host of problems!

Obama is running an immensely moronic recover! Didn't get a big enough stimulus package to offset the damage Bush caused by not raising taxes on the rich to pay for their scams and the wars since it is a cash cow for them to profit on the production of bombs, tanks, guns, prosthetics, medicine, and all the areas of profits from the Industrial Military Complex!

Obama simply decided to be a ho because he's too big a coward to stand up to being called a socialist and run the right economic recover which calls for redistribution of wealth! Since I find the Executive Order has no real power according to what I'm hearing lately, Obama has one saving grace and that is to lead the people to vote on an amendment to the Constitution to give a direct vote to the people when we don't like what Congress is doing! We get to vote on who gets taxed and how much! We get to vote on import fees, trade, and protecting American jobs! We get to vote on how we live and work instead of the rich who corrupt congress with tainted money! Give us true democracy or get the boot! BOOT THE BUM UNLESS HE GIVES US SOME!

President Obama has done an excellent job at exposing the hypocrisy of the G.O.P. Repubublicans say that tax cuts have to be paid for? Well, they didn't feel that way when George Bush passed the tax cuts totaling 1.6 trillion for the rich. Which is a big part of the huge deficits we now face. But when it comes to a tax cut for working class people, tax cuts have to be paid for? Give me a break!
