Smiley: "When the David & Goliath story comes to mind, one doesn't think of love, one thinks of slaying someone."
West: "We have to find out what the truth is, but most importantly there has to be a sense of humility."

Recently, but still in the early stages of an unfolding scenario, the Obama Presidency seems to be brewing a new onslaught on corrupt executives by breaking the veil of the corporation as a legal entity separate from its owners. The government wants to crack down directly on the thieving executives doing their thing behind the veil.
Ostensibly, this is a response to loud protests from Main Street on the indulged excesses of Wall Street. If some folks question the timing of this move, I might not fault them or question their cynicism. What is more important to me, though, is not so much the likely charge of political gamesmanship against the Obama Presidency, but the prospect of this ressurected initiative having the requisite bite to forge a meaningful change in national direction and attitude.
Who needs mothers being clamped into jail for being overzealous about their kids' education when the State is dropping the ball? We need no three-strike law that puts a candy thief in jail for life when mega-thieves roam corridors of power with impunity. There will be legal tussles to this offensive, if it rises to the level of being an offensive. There will be legislative somersaults. People need to be ready to play the catalysts in making the initiative work. The ball is going to be in the people's court; watch out.

Eddie Long is not a too-big-to-fail Wall Street banker; as such, he gets no golden parachute! He is not even sure of escaping the jumpsuit. The Feds may soon come knocking on his door, if he is still living behind one by the time they arrive; not yet on Main Street. Meanwhile, thieves on Wall Street get to negotiate some ridiculous out-of-court settlement and keep enjoying chunks of their 'spoil of war;' economic war on the people!
