Black Americans need to brcome more accountable for our progress in this country.  Too many single mothers, too many babys daddy's and not enough fathers. We have to start with building family values that reflect progress.

Also the only way to make real change in this country is to vote. Voting is the single most important thing that African Americans  can do for themselves in today's world. If we to vote as a whole to have our voice heard all the complaining is in vain. We continue to wait for leaders but they are not leading so we must become more accountable for our own.  Don't wait to rally behind someone else voice organize in your own community and find your own voice. Taking care of your community is a great start. Get people involved spread the word about voting make your voice heard
This is so true.  If we do this and clean up our communities, homes and "represent" we will regain respect as well, I think.

I was with you except for voting. All of the political gains made by Black were made when we were willing to vote for either party or stay home. Right now Gays and illegal immigrants have more political power than Black people. Why because Hispanic and Gays are willing to vote for either party. Black voters are forcing Republicans to seek voters to replace them, Democrats are competing also and no one is fighting for the Black vote. Black voters need to shake up the political landscape by being a block vote.

Exactly my point. We need to find our own voice in politics because neither part cares nor has any platforms to help middle class or poor minorities. That is exactly why we need to organize all minorities to vote for those that best serve Our needs. We have become a afterthought at the pols become we are not regular with our turnout. If we had consistency in numbers every election not just when it's Obama then and only then can we enact real change. Not voting is not an option nowadays because the thing that are left in our representatives hands are very important to our way of life so would you stay silent or would you let your voice be heard. We need to stop thinking as only black Americans and start being Americans even though we are not treated as such. My thinking is that you cant win if you don't play. Gays and Hispanics have a organized voice that votes for the things they believe and want represented so why is it hard for us to organize like them.

Thank God someone else understand how the game is played. Can I get 3?

When Gore ran the race was neck and neck. This means the power was in the hands of Black voters. At that time , there was a sitting Democratic President with a pocket full of cash, Black voters and their leaders refuse to make a single demand. By threatening to stay home, Black people could have address many of the problem. in our community.

Key words "could have made a difference". My whole problem with the non vote thing as leverage is that we really have no leverage at all so therefore all the more reason to vote. My grandparents were not allowed to vote where was their leverage? basically what I am saying is that our right to vote was a hard fought one for us to obtain so I plan on exercising that right every chance I get. We just need to educate our community on the need to find our own voice through the vote. If 2/3 of us voted for who represents us as we do for American Idol or Lil Waynes best albums we would be just fine. It's easy to sit but I prefer to move foreword. Our political mindstate had to change if we are trully going to be taking seriously in this country new wars call for new war taticts.

I may not understand how the game is played but I am one of those individuals who is really trying to help single mothers who somehow lose their identity because of believing the lie or the hype. It just appears to be a new generation very different from the babyboomers which I am one. There is truly much to be desired. I believe we must continue to educate and be there for many of those individuals who feel no one cares.... At the end it is the children that are hurt as well as an already hurting mother. or parent. Good conversation.

Chairo 9 says, Just don't even play the game!!!!  Unity, Accountability, Education, and Rebuilding the Family is key to make worldwide changes in so many different directions but people need to get more comfortable with doing things outside of the box and much different than the way it's done before.  Too many cliques and following of propaganda that does not help.

Absolutely;  We must think out of the box... Especially when it comes to employment. We are going to have to make things happen for ourselves. We must look inside of ourselves and search out those gifts and hidden talents that lie within us. I always say the money is on the inside of us. We make it happen for ourselves not to depend on Washington. It will never happen. They are looking out for there own agendas.

First we need to take inventory. Ask yourself. Can Black America produce a Dr. King or Malcolm X today? Black people have pushed out all the people who think differently. There are no young radicals; no Republicans, no Conservatives and they are not welcome. What these people add are checks and balance and bio-feedback. Furthermore all the institutions in Black America are those that depend on Black people remaining ignorant and poor. Finally we need to realize that we live in a Democracy and not a tribe.

Jimmy I do realize and understand what you are saying. What must be done is to continue to stand up for our rights. I have come to realize maybe Malcolm X was right. I use to walk through Brooklyn , and Harlem Growing up watching him stand and bring the crowds of people together talking to them in the neighborhoods. I didn't understand then, but I understand now. Whats important here is not to lose who we are. We must become originals... I believe the battle is raging in our minds. As a man thinks he becomes.
