Wow, again, when is it going to stop? How much more of this can the American population stand? I really thought there was going to be riots after the bank bail outs and the CEO bonus parties-but nothing.
I am hoping and betting that on October 6th 2011 in DC, there will be riots. We might not see them on national TV, but they will be uploaded on youtube.
THANK YOU AND WELL STATED!!!!!
And lets not forget Bill Daley, the new Chief of Staff who replaced Ron Emanuel, also came from JP Morgan Chase's Wall Street Executive Office. You are absolutely correct most of POTUS's administration including economic counsel came straight from WALL STREET.
NOW what's even worse, POTUS chose GE's REPUBLICAN CEO to lead the U.S. Jobs Creation Committee. What's relevant to know about this decision is:
1) GE, a fortune 100 company, was reported to have paid NO taxes last year!
2) GE recently announced it will shut down its $14B a year X-ray & Healthcare business currently in Wisconsin and move it and most of its Jobs to CHINA. Here's another example of QUESTIONABLE JUDGEMENT made by POTUS. POTUS chose a man to lead U.S. Jobs Creation Committee whose company is REDUCING JOBS IN U.S - NOT CREATING THEM! Listen to the below CNN discussion on this embarrassing and questionable decision made by President Obama.

Obama has brought this country to it's knees, by being beholding to wall street and the banks. No one is being investigated for causing the meltdown. Obama has increased our country's war powers-and worse yet-he did not get Congressional approval-under the War Powers Act-for going into Libya. It is Obama's fault for not withdrawing our troops out of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and these paultry numbers-10,000 out of Afghanistan, when we have 100,000 over there to fight 100 Taliban · which are not in any way shape or form helping to protect this country. We need to stop this, as these wars are nothing more than helping contractors and the military indusrial war machine. Obama can say at any moment, as he is the Commander in Chief, that he is bringing our troops home. Those troops can help protect "our borders", can help rebuilding "this country-using the Seabeas (construction aspect of the US Navy), Obama could have helped create the jobs lost under the Bush/Cheney administration, instead of bailing out the "too big to fail" banks (and Wall Street) He chose people like Tim Guithner (previously from CEO of the NY Federal Reserve) and who championed the rescue of AIG. Obama got some of his biggest campaign donations from Jamie Dimon (CEO of JP Morgan Chase).
So, Obama isn't going to bite off the hand that feeds him, but if you believe that he will come to our rescue-keep on dreaming.
color me disappointed. is this Smiley & West or DailyKos/AmericanThinker? I floated an idea, you don't have to agree, in fact I want to hear criticism. I just didn't expect namecalling, yes, I take being called a 'tea-bagger' as an insult. so be it.
I made a radical proposal because I don't think 'working within the system' will work anymore. The bribes these days are no longer envelopes of cash, but 10's and 100's of MILLIONS. Your "representatives" in D.C. do not care about you, and why should they? You don't have the money. This country needs a Constitutional Congress or something like it and I just don't think those who profit from the status quo will ever let go. Do you?
forget the names and the arguing!
what do you think about nullifying an election? how do you propose to re-capture the government of the USA?
How do you nullify an election? The only way to take our government back is
1. Educate folks via any way possible-social media, fliers, meetings, etc
2.Stop supporting the Repubs and Dems. Our family used to donate to the Democratic party, but no longer feel that they best respresent us. Support a third party. Join networks of folks who think like you. I have a petition on www.Change.org called- Create a New Liberals and Progressive Party. Post the petition on Facebook, myspace and other sites.
3. We must have Campaign Finance Reform to take the corporate/foreign money out of US politics.
4. Stop supporting organizations/businesses that don't think like you do.
*I sincerely believe that folks are so very angry that they will do something. It is only human to stand up, and stop being treated like we are right now. A major revolt is going to take place soon. as folks are tired of being treated like Sxxt.
5. If you can, take your child out of the public schools, like I did, and home school. They will get more attention and learn more. My sons were driven out of the Texas public schools because the both had ADHD and the teachers/ system couldn't/wouldn't help them. My sons actually know more than some of their peers, because my husband and I are educated and have political/educational,etc discussions with them. Some kids don't know basic history, math, spelling and grammer, and that speaks volumes about our school system.
6. If we can- end the rule of the Federal Reserve, like JFK tried to do in 1963, by creating silver backed notes, and give our monetary system "back to the people". My father, 82 yrs, thought the Fed was part of our government. It is not, but a private banking cartel. Henry Ford said "It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning". The Fed is only in it for profit.
7.We must stop buying crap, stuff we don't need, but the media says we must have. Down-size, move if you have to, change electric providers to green energy or change to get a better and lower rate at least, bike ride, buy locally grown produce.
8. I don't have a "real" answer to this question-just a few thoughts for change.
I appreciate your thoughts.
My original post was about all of us NOT voting. My thinking is that if we can get the voter participation down to a critical level then it could be demonstrated that the government doesn't have the support of the people. I'm trying to hash it out in a few places online. a couple things to think about:
forget about a 3rd party, it just costs too much and any money comes with strings
forget about a 'none of the above' option, its hard enough to get a candidate on the ballot, probably impossible to get any Sec. of State to do it.
it'll probably happen online, just the threat of it might get politicians of their butts.
it'll probably require some lawyers, maybe somebody to refuse to pay taxes on the basis that the gov.does not represent the people. a crisis must be forced or threatened.
its gotta have goals. getting money out of politics is what led me to the idea, so public funding of campaigns is probably at its base.
when I started thinking about this I envisioned some kinda Constitutional Congress that might be a good place to reverse the status of corporate personhood, reform of tax code, etc.
I'm a liberal, but I've been impressed with the Tea Party. Astroturf? Sure, but results are results. We don't have a history of General Strikes like they do in France so I think this might be a way to actually effect some change that individual citizens can get behind. Its a lot to think about, that's why I'd really appreciate any input from any user out there.
speeches are not jobs!!!
that blackish bold hoax hobama has a latino jobs agenda
I understand Texas all right. My husband died in Dallas in 2004 at the age of 46 after visiting his sister there and being taken to the hospital in obvious cardiac distress. They sent him home to find a personal Cardiologist and he died instantly. I've had to raise my sons alone without my husband of 20 years and put them through college without that support. I now have an exceptional graduate student who is having a problem finding a job to pay the student loans he had to take on. We are all in this boat (America) and I don't see 1 person that espouses the concern for the people as I see in Obama. He is not to blame for everything that has happened here..."my opinion" and I won't cut him to pieces for what is a collective failing of this countries government. I live in Maryland and I'm darn glad I do. I'm also not going to swing to the complete polar opposite and vote in some crazies because I'm disappointed with how everything has turned out after electing this man. I also consider it to be an insult for people to continually insist that African Americans don't have the intelligence to see beyond color and make a choice depending on shared value...not skin color. His skin color isn't going to solve my problems...as a matter of fact it has been a detriment to his progress in the White House because of all the others that don't seem to be able to get pass that fact and see The President of the United States.
It's like I've said for years... Color and culture is completely irrelevant. And while I, myself, am not wild about monotheistic beliefs...I know for a fact that even religion isn't important. What is important is the commitment and capability of putting people ahead of corporations. Sadly, the USA hasn't seen anything remotely like that since Eisenhower....A republican president who warned against the evils and danger of the "Military Industrial Complex" (his words, not mine).
Now, of course, the Military Industrial complex has grown to become the Military Industrial Prison complex.

Thank you and I couldn't have said that better myself!
Now, it is time to push for another candidate, like Dennie Kucincih, who has always been against these wars. Or Bernie Sanders who believes that the poor and middle class have been royally screwed, or Alan Grayson, or anyone who will not be a sell out.
