Permalink Reply by Jessica Carew Kraft on January 12, 2011 at 1:55pm Dr. West, David Hackett has a great citation here, but I also wanted to call your attention to the references to "shattered vessels," or "shevirat ha kelim" in the Jewish mystical tradition contained in the Zohar.
In the beginning of the world, there were ten vessels that were originally meant to contain the emanation of God's light. But these vessels were weak, and unable to contain the light and were therefore shattered. As a result of this cosmic catastrophe, our world is composed of the shards of the these broken values.
At the heart of Jewish tradition is the imperative to tikkun olam, or repair of the world. And so we must strive to piece together the broken shards of the original vessels, and that is our great calling to social justice. This meaning resonates well with your use of cracked vessels, so there may be some Judeo-Christian crossover here!

Gentlemen, I'm surprised that in your on-air explanation of "cracked vessels" you didn't mention the obvious and significant source for the phrase "cracked vessels." It's a biblical image from 2 Corinthians 4:7:
"But we have this treasure in jars of clay [other versions translate 'jars of clay' as cracked vessels] to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us."
It's not simply a phrase from some preacher!

I just love it when the architect blames the building materials, instead of admitting her/his fallibilities especially when its easier to just bring on the deluge, but he/she did repent (admit, apologize)for their design, how did they put it.....grieve him to his Heart that he had even created Man....sounds like an admission to me.....so he wasn't The Most High

The issue of Cracked Vessel shows the depravity of humanity. Man was sold into slavery in the Garden of Eden. The Devil became the master. The first master for human kind was God Himself. He made man in His own image until after the fall man was then cracked.
It is interesting to see how the word crack is used in a derogative way by many today. However, Dr. West used it in another dimension to reveal the frailty of man.
At the first advent, God sent His Son to redeem the cracked vessel of any willing humankind from that frailty into a life that can have the potential to be a blessing to humanity at large. Christ in you the hope of a blessed vessel.
The choice remains clear to choose to be a vessel of honor or not. The blood of Jesus is able to make you whole. Present your cracked vessel for a renewal. Three decades ago I settled the issue of cracked vessel at Calvary where I carried my heavy burden of cracked vessel for a supernatural exchange. Christ made me whole. I am no more a cracked vessel. The grace of God is now available to make you free.. What He did to me He is willing to do it again to you.

THESE COULD BE SOME OF THE REASON'S, SOME PEOPLE WILL NOT HIRE AFRICAN AMERICAN'S
I would like to share a few of my thought's with you, concerning this subject.
When I was younger, my brother's and sister would say to me, "You are not our sister, you are too light." "Mom and Dad, found you in a trash-can or you are the mail man's daughter." I don't know, if they realized, by making those statements to me, they broke my little heart.
I thought, this is not a family, I do not belong here. That saturday, I asked my Dad to take me to church on sunday. I went there to find God, to ask him to take me home, with Him.
While living here on the surface of the earth, I found that, most caucasian's and other race's, treated me better and, have more respect for me than most of my own people.
During most of my life, my own People; women and men, have been against me because of the way I look, and not because of my work's (I have alway's put my all within my work's, I make mistake's sometime's but, I try to correct them.)
Furthermore, at a couple of companies I worked with, women would walk-up to me and say or say around my work station, "Why do you think you are cute? " "Why do you dress like that to come to work?" "Why do you wear make-up to work?" "How long does it take you to get dressed in the morning? " "It look like it took you hour's" "She think that she is bad, because she has a new car." "Don't look at me "B", I will kick your "A"."
On the otherhand, a few men have said and tried to do these things to me, hear goes, "You are not approachable, you think that, you are to good for a black man." "You are not marriage material." (At that time, I was married to a African American. We were married for fifteen year's and before that I was in a twenty year relationship with another African American.) I must not forget this, I was attempted rape, by four friend's of the family (In that aspect, I will not let anyone take anything from me.) During one attempt, Our Creator, told me how to fight him, I did it and won :~)!
To me, these are a part of their problem's, the bottom line is this, I think, several African American's have low self-esteem, jealousies within their heart's and don't want to see their Own people with something they don't have. Until they change their way of thinking and/or action's, who want's people around them talking and acting like that? I did not like working with negative people. Even though they hated me, when they needed help with a problem, who do you think they came to? I will tell you, me, and I did help them. I think, most people do not want negative people working within their companies. What do you think?
Peace,

Permalink Reply by Brenda on February 25, 2011 at 7:36am Dr. West, is a wonderful MAN and TRUTH teller. Those are two of the reason's, the GODHEAD, the Peace Council, the other's and I, Love Him Very Much. On the surface of the earth, He DO NOT, receive the credit that is due to Him, but when He Meet's Jesus Christ and the Other's, He WILL, receive it. If Tavis and/or Dr.West were not here, I would not be here. A few time's, I have tried, to contact the President, but I have never received any answer's. I did receive a thank you card, concerning him, from an organization, for supporting him, in the past. I hope Dr. West, will find your comment's here :~)!
Peace,
