Smiley & Rice look ahead to the 2012 election and the
criticism of President Obama.

Rice: 90% of the blame I put on the lack of a movement. The movement in this country is on the far right.

Smiley: In the absence of that movement, critical voices are even more important.

You're very good at calling out trolls, looking at your recent activities. You are a rude, obnoxious, and extremely closed minded individual.

Kindly f*** off.

You did not cite any specifics regarding what he has done or even attempted to do for African-Americans. Its ok but I am not prepared to vote for someone just because of their race. I think you share this principle as you have referenced Clarence Thomas several times.

I will say I love Michelle. She is the ultimate role model for African women. I have 4 daughters and regularly point out that Michelle is the coolest babe on the planet. That alone might get my vote. I can see her at some point running for office (Senate) or taking a senior position.

My point in this conversation is that we as African-Americans and as progressives need to put positive pressure on Obama to support a progressive agenda. Its not clear that he wants or would welcome such pressure but its very clear that we need to be organized to assert such pressure, regardless of who is President.

Don't even speak to the guy, he's a complete Obamarobot. I also agree that race should not be the defining factor for deciding whether to vote for the man or not.

I'm Eastern European, used to live in Los Angeles, if i still lived in the states, I would vote for Cynthia McKinney if she ran. She's a true hero. She's in Libya trying to figure out what is going on with Obama's war of terror.

Nazar, we are on the same page. I voted for Nader over Clinton 2 and Nader over Gore.

As mentioned, I live in Tanzania and Africans are very upset that Libya is being bombed on a daily basis. Why? Much of Libya's oil revenue builds hospitals, schools and roads in Africa. They should have been left alone to sort things out alone.

Yes! Yes! Yes!  I am a proud African-American Obamarobot!  I am not Eastern European nor do I live in Tanzania!  I live in NW DC.  I am part of the legion of Obamarobots that voted for him and got him electede.  We will get him  re-elected.  Troll from Eastern Europe.  My brother from Tanzaania - Africans are beating the U.S. doors down trying to get into this country.  If you think other Africans love Libya so much, ask the Sudanese how much they love Arab rule.  Two trolls!!!  This is my last time responding to you two trolls.  I love President and Mrs. Obama!!!  I am a extremely proud Obamarobot!!!

This kind of rhetoric puts people off, can we all do something about this idiot?
I am not rude, I am not obnoxious, nor am I closed minded.  I am a african-american who grew up in this racist society and prospered .  I educated myself and turned myself into a good citizen.  I have not been to jail, abused women, drugs or alchohol.  I was proud to be part of the wave that elected President Obama.  I am going to be part of the wave of progressives, hispanics, women, blacks and other reasonable people who get him re-elected. I love Obamarobots because they are winners and refute trolllllllls like you two.  Any person that voted for Nader ought to be ridiculed.  Nader is a spoiler and a loser. So are the trolllllllllls!  Re-elect President Obama!

Re-elect President Obama!!!  I am not trying to put anyone off or insult anyone.  But I am not going to sit by and let anyone attach the first african-american president.  He is a great man. A good person. He is intelligent and very cool under fire.  He is thoughtful and pragmatic. He speaks correct English.   He married a black woman.   He is all the things we want our children to aspire to be.  Who is a better roll model for the black community than President Obama?  I am so proud to say I voted for him partly because he is black.  White folks been doing it for centuries.  I am just a proud Obamarobot!
