Event Description

Smiley & West take to the road on a 15-city nationwide tour to highlight an invisible issue in Washington's halls of power - poverty in America. The Great Recession has left 1 in 7 Americans living in poverty with unemployment in many communities still on the rise. The war on poverty is the greatest policy failure in our society. Smiley & West will share the stories of real Americans, free of punditry and spin, in the hopes of changing government policy in the direction of justice and equality.

During the tour, Smiley & West will hold a town-hall event in Chicago, Detroit and Memphis.

In times such as these Detroit needs a friend and with Dr. West and the most Honorable Travis Smiley Detroit has truely found two dearly beloved friends.I am looking forward to being there along with these two brothers in hopes of hearing directly from them in their own words. We have heard about them many of their words and true intents have been misquoted, misdirected and their motives have been evil spoken of now the time has come to hear from them. I look forward to their message out of their mouths and you should also.
